Good riddance, now everyone can enjoy blu-ray movies without toshiba ruining everything for the consumers.Anti-Gamer
No. Now I can continue to get cheaper DVD movies and watch them upscaled to 1080p on my 360 for the next 2 years. If Blu-Ray finally becomes a standard and starts competing with DVD, then maybe I'll switch over. Right now Blu-Ray movies are still too expensive and until the price drops down to DVD's level, I won't be wasting my money on any Blu-Ray movies.

click on the lil news tab up there, Gamespot ran a story on it[QUOTE="comstrikeiscool"]Cause Warner went Blu-Ray exclusive.SkullboyXThat was weird Warner doesn't usually pick sides. To be honest the picture quality looks the exact same to me.
They got paid $500 million by BDA which includes Sony. I'm curious as to how many billions Sony lost for their 4th quarter. $500 million to Warner Bros. PS3 price drop worldwide twice in less then 2 months. Large sum of money spent to run PSN every month.
If you have an upscaling DVD player or an XBox 360 with the upscaling software the DVD movies don't look a huge difference from Blu-Ray. I'm sticking with DVD's for the next 2 years at least.

Microsoft made an official announcement right after the rumor was posted. They said there was no Ultimate XBox 360 with an internal HD-DVD in it being announced. So the rumor was completely false.

didnt warner say the didnt get paid for the switch and the resion they went Blu was to stop any market confusion that was stopping people from buying blu ray or hd dvd?Good, now that both formats are dead we can go back to watching regular DVDs (HD is overrated, I have an HDTV so don't call me bias).UssjTrunks
What's your t.v.? And which hddvd/blu ray player do you have?

Philips 42" plasma (don't know the exact model number by heart), I don't have any player but I have looked at store demos, and they weren't mindblowing like everyone says, even on some pretty great TVs.Please Log In to post.
