I have around 100 PS3 games, around 15 Wii games, and around 200 Steam games. I'll readily admit that most of my trips to Target to go grocery shopping include a spin past the clearance end-cap in the game section, and the Steam sales have lightened my wallet in past years (not so much this year, but occasionally I still see something I want).
Umm depends. I would say a medium collection. Last year I didnt buy many games except for older ones on steam. But this year...my gosh I cannot afford them all.
I got a huge collection of games around 90 or so retail pc games 146 games on steam with some overlap between the 2 for valve games and other games that require steam like darksiders and a dozen or so from other DD sites. So total amount of pc games is around 250 For my ps3 I have 4 retail games mgs4,demon souls, Warhawk, and eternal sonata which my mom accidentally sent back to netflix instead of the bluray movie and never got it back :( and 15 psn games.
i only buy the games that are the best of the best gaurenteed, basically only the games bound to be the memorable legendary ones......last year I bought RDR, Alan Wake, Halo, Black Ops, Brotherhood, New Vegas, ME2, Splinter Cell 2, and Bad CO 2.... no point in buying a game you can only hope is fantastic....the only risky call i made was with splinter cell since it got alot of negative feedback, but i loved it and was glad i ignored alot of the review scores.
I used to always be the #1 option, but the past couple of years I'm a lot more #3. I don't try to buy or get all the games, just the ones I'm interested in, even if I don't currently have time to play it. I want it in my collection before it's rare and hard to get at a good price and in good condition. I tend to go towards RPGs, puzzle, and action/adventure games, but I tend to like most genres except for FPS, sports, and music/rythmn & dance games.
If you count DS games I have about 100 current gen games. Most are RPGs. I usually just rent FPSs and other similar short SP games, and I don't buy everything I play. I'd say I have probably rented more games this gen than I've actually bought.
