Civilization 5 becomes the most played game after Dota 2

Damn. That´s pretty impressive. I am playing it myself right now. I have just forgot how good and addictive this game is.

Currently Civ 5 is the most played game on Steam after Dota 2 featuing impresive 75k concurrent players. The new expansion Brave New World is probabbly the best selling game this Steam sale.

I don't think anyone ever believed that. Strategy games are huge.

It's just that fanboys try to downplay anything they can't have: like saying mods don't count or saying an entire library of a system looks like crap.

Civ 5 and Dota are great games so is TLOU and other console games.

The only ones who lose are the ones that miss out on them.

I'm sure he hacked his PS3 in a way that if he is playing a game of which the metacritic score goes below 95, the system will eject the disk.

It's just sad that PC exists for decades yet can't outdo the PS3 on either site.

The highest rated PC exclusive on Metacritic is out of the park baseball 2007 with a 96 score and it only got 5 reviews.

That's nice to hear :) So that score didn't stop you from enjoying the game.

Is a game that scorred 95 better than a game that scored 75 ? Perhaps, but you'll never know unless you try them out for yourself. There are many games I've enjoyed that scored far lower and I've enjoyed them far more than some games that did really well, like Assassin's Creed for example. Sometimes you are willing to look past the bugs and lack of polish and you find a game that is a perfect fit for yourself.

That has thought me never to stare myself blind at review scores.

I'm glad the MGS: Legacy Collection is coming to Europe, now I'll be able to check out all the games myself and see how good they are.

The best review I've gotten so far about the game from my friend was this:

Civ V was good, but it felt incomplete next to Civ IV. Then "Gods & Kings" came out, and Civ V's full potential was reached, and it was now worth playing over IV. Then "Brave New World" came out, and shattered the entire idea that "Gods & Kings" was Civ V's full potential :P
