Cliffy B- Gears of War 2 "Definetley Not" Coming to PC

And yes when pressed he of course confirmed that by 'console' he meant specifically the Xbox 360. Although he added "Gears of War could work on PS3, but we don't think our publisher would be too happy with that."

We don't think that Microsoft Game Studios will be too happy about the game not coming to PC either. Games for Windows needs a software shot in the arm more than Michael Jackson needs a shrink and you can be sure that the flat-out assertion that Gears of War 2 will not make it to PC by CliffyB will become more ammo for geek-sadists hungry to sing about the demise of the mouse & keyboard gaming experience.

360 owners made this game a huge success. How were we thanked? They added new stuff to the PC version without even at least making it available to 360 owners as downloadable content. Come on now. I have no problem with more people playing it I just think we got short changed for getting it first AND having it sell huge.

What Cliffy is really saying is buy it now for X360. Then we will surprise you and you can buy the expanded PC edition later.

Even if it comes on the pc and I have a 50$ to spend, I am sure I can find something better than a tps where I need a pair sunglass to face the bloom.

Really though, a lot of companies seem to be moving from the PC due to piracy. If Cliffy B and epic are trying to combat something like say "Resale" where the publisher and developers don't see squat from it like what is happening with Gamestop, what makes you think they would move to an even easier market to pirate from... unless the port is quick and dirty and will make more money even with pirating in the end.

I didn't say it was the only reason, just one of the possibilities, seeing as how Epic is concerned with the resale market, they would probably want to retain the most profits.

well gears diddnt launch on the pc with the 360 , the pc version was a port, i dont see why it so hard to see it will be a 360 only game, the game was obviously made for the 360 :/

The onyl way it could 'screw' 360 owners is if the PC users are pirating it, otherwise, they still have to pay for it, jsut as 360 owners did (assumign they didnt pirate it also).

Somethign tells me the new NXE update will add some new antipiracy code to the 360 this fall. Perhaps it can curb the increase in 360 piracy even just a little bit, if they find a way to take control fo the dvdrom firmware.
