Yupp. That's the word from Cliffy B himself. However, Epic have a tendency to disappoint with their "announcement about an announcement" - esque antics.

Although, admittedly, the Shadow Complex announcement at last year's E3 was pretty cool.

What can we expect? A Shadow Complex DLC?

Or as I earlier proposed in the X10 announcement thread (before CliffyB opened his jaws):

I can see a Gears of War 3 teaser being shown. With an extended showing at E3 whilst simultaneously announcing a spring 2011 release date.

Late 2010 looks stuffed as is; with Halo: Reach, Fable 3 and Natal to name a few.ToScA-

Hopefully the latter.

Would be swell if they'd work on something different whilst saving up the inevitable sequel to Gears of War 2 for the next generation.

If it's Gears 3 it better bring it. Gears was the reason I got wanted a 360 originally.... then later I discovered Uncharted (I overlooked because all I was waiting for was the next final fantasy and gowiii AND GameSpot only gave this a 8.0! I should have went IGN first!)

Is it Gears of War 3 with a confirmed openbeta where they aren't going to make stupid changesto the gamelike knockdown smokesand grenade wall tag camp fests and they bring back gears of war 1's multiplayer system of servers and public matches that you can host where random people can actually join?

that is the only "megaton face melting news" I will accept. gears of war 1=awesome multiplayer. gears of war 2 = camping until time runs out and it stalemates because of supercharged lancers and hammerbursts and frags on walls.

Hopefully it will be some new IP that does not include roided out space marines in ridiculously over sized armor.

Ya, the host selection is the only thing bad with Gears2 multiplayer now. Though that doesnt even seem to be as bad lately, I rarely ever have laggy matches like I used to, though that could be because its not played as much anymore. The game really does have great online though, the maps are all good and the modes are realy fun IMO.

I hope it's Gears 3. I really wish Gears 2 had been a prequel, and Gears 3 would have essentially been what we got with Gears 2. Oh well, I'm still interested in seeing where this goes.

(Had a thought- Maybe after the close the trilogy, we'll get a prequel at that point, "Gears of War: Pendulum Wars" or something :P)

Some love for the PlayStation 3 would be nice.

I'd like to see them close off the gears trilogy.

Give me Gears 3, please.
