Close-mindedness on System Wars: How can we get along?

System wars is flawed, slippery slopes, arguments from ignorance and close-mindedness are abound here. Many of us fail to see the value in other consoles, in short, it's "us vs. them". How then can we improve System Wars to become a better place to ecumenically dialouge and debate?

System Wars is fun the way it is imo. The only change that could make it better is that if there were the same amount of MS, Sony, nintendo and PC supporters/fans. But thats impossible to happen.

Yeah I think its meant to be this way and most of the time its pretty funny, There are times when I surely want to break some fanboys neck, specially when they "sound" like they're preteens just obsesed with defending their console of choice, something like "Ps3 is better, uncharted cant be beaten, period" or something like that...But IMO most of the time is all in good fun and It gives a different feel than the other system based forums so its all good...

Give other consoles a chance. I myself have been mostly a Nintendo fan over the years. In fact, I wouldn't even give the Gamecube a chance! I was too obsessed with the N64 and the likes of Pokemon Stadium 2 and SSB. However, as my GC collection grew, I came to love it. Metroid Prime and SSBM are awesome games!

Then came the day when my family got a PS2 for Christmas. Pretty much the only reason my family wanted it was to play Guitar Hero :lol:! Even today, I only own four PS2 games, but I rather like Shadow the Hedgehog, Guitar Hero Encore and Orphen. Now Lemony Snicket...well, there's not much to it.

Finally, my family recieved a PS3 from a relative of mine. At first, I had now idea what games I would get, then I got GTA4, which is rather amusing and thrilling. Recently I bought Infamous, and it's fantastic!

Now, if I was still as close-minded as I was back whenI always played my N64, I would never know about Infamous, or the Wii, or even Metroid. Whenever we give other products a chance, our opinions become less biased. Maybe, someday, I'll have the oppurtunity to fully play an Xbox game and love it. It's all about giving a chance.

I think that this topic belongs in SW. The topic isn't about video games overall; the topic is about accepting other platforms.

system wars is here for a reason... its for all silly people to have there pointless little arguments and not infect the other boards.

What I'm saying is, if that's the kind of community you want, go to General Games Discussion. System Wars is all about NOT getting along. That's why it's WARs and not a peace-circle.
