Microsoft really needs to hurry up and get the Subscription based models out and the deal with the major cable companies out. That will put the XBONE in really good shape, at least in the States to get control of the next gen market.

Yeah if/when your average person can call up their cable provider and have an installer bring a new Xbox One to their house (and set it up for them), then download all the games right from the console it will be in a league of its own. They aren't looking to battle for the existing market share, they are looking to bring in new people. And you better believe the cable companies will talk grandma into getting one for when the kids are over, even if she doesn't need one. The cable thing is a game changer.LOL. Most average consumers aren't going to shell out $500 on a console just to have cable on a home gaming console.
Plus cable's already dying out, nor is it a game changer. Most people are now viewing shows through Apple TV's, Roku TV's, Netflix, Hulu Plus, smartphones, & tablets, etc.
yea and a person with an Xbox One has no reason to buy an Apple TV or Roku TV after that XB1 purchase.. That's just one less box you have to have in your living room.. Microsoft is doing the right thing by expanding into that market.. Anyone who wants an Apple TV or Roku TV experience (along with seamless live tv) and also wants a game console can potentially get both with an Xbox One.. That's a selling point and just good business..
