I said this in a diffrent thread earlier but apply's to this one too sorta. Someone else can comment on MP and Crysis since Im to tierd to write right now.
I dont think CoD 4 should outscore Halo 3 at all, so far all we have seen of COD 4 was a new setting and a more realistic looking game but not many new features coming from the series.
Halo 3 will have a lot of new features, and yes they may not be new or revolutionary to games in general but they are new to the halo series and come together to make a full package.
- Forge: You can modify the multiplayer maps while playing with others in this game mode and can be compaired to something like GMod from HL2.
- 4 player online/offline Co-op: Yes 4 player co-op isnt new but thats not the only thing they added to it; Not only does each player have a diffrent character and all have a back story but there is now a Meta game. You can compete with eachother in the campaign to see who gets the most and best kills, so say you shoot a grunt it will be worth 100 points but if you headshot it then you get more. So by the end of each level you can see who did the most and had the best kills.
- Recording: Again not a new feature to other games but definatly new to Halo and is implemented in a nice fashion. It allows you to record not only Multiplayer but single player games and then you can upload it to Bungie.net and show the videos off to your friends.
- Custom Games: You can change nearly anything including how fast you move and what the gravity is.
Anyway thats just a few reasons why I dont think it will score below 9.0; yes they are not new to games but together they make one hell of a game and Im sure I missed a whole lot.

Halo 3 just has too much going for it right now. All other games are overshadowed IMO
COD4 has crappy physics (no ragdoll even) and is not that impressive graphically. meanwhile Crysis has realtime weather, amazing physics, destructible environments, depth of field(never seen done in any game in history). Crysis is the most technically impressive game slated for release yet. Gzus666Graphics don't make a game u scally wag!

Based on what? All we've really seen are a few videos of the game in action and some screenshots. COD4 is nothing like 3 or 2, so we have no way of knowing that its going to be a hit. Crysis falls in the same boat. Same for Haze and even KZ2.
We already know what to expect with MP and Halo, we can simply judge from their previous titles. Just wait until the games come out and then start "owning"

Umm... I dont think "saved films" has EVER been done before on a console. So thats something innovative Bungie is bringing to the console table. And this feature alone will bring many hours of replay value.

300 is actually one of my favorite movies... Im sorry i dont care for your favorite game.
Here's how I look at it. Games like Bioshock, MP3, and Halo all havea much better chance of scoring 9.5, but I bet money that after playing through 10 times, CoD4 will be the one that is still really fun to play.
Crysis is an impressive tech demo, but the gameplay just doesn't look really fun from what I've seen so far. But that could easily change.
CoD 2 didn't even get AAA, and I still have more fun playing that game than almost any other shooter.

You need to be enlightened.
You guys are getting to offensive. Its just a game fellas.
I dont know. I just remember seeing the trailer of MP1 being played at movie theaters and seeing the player in the sewers killing little green worms causing green slime to splat on your visor. After seeing that, i lost all interest in the game

I did didn't I?
But then there are the exceptions who actually like Viva Pinata, Metroid Prime or whatever who would never say anything as stupid as "It's teh kiddy. Gay."
I'm merely trying to hint that there is a demographic out there who just likes a lot of sex and violence, and that's a very small group in this world (and as you mention, they all congregate here). It's the same demographic that hates the video game industry for giving props to Little Big Planet and leaving out the "bad boy" games on their lists. The same demographic that thinks the Imperials and Darth Vader are cooler than the Rebels and Luke Skywalker (without real good reason, mind you.) It's the same one that thinks if you get rid of a cliche for games/movies you're a freakin' genius. The same one that thinks they can pack their lunch, grab a wheelbarrow and they can survive without their parents.
Basically, we think we know it all. It's once we get to a certain age, we think: "Oh wait a minute... now I see why it's done this way. Heh, this is not so bad after all"

he said it LOOKED too kiddy for HIS taste. how dare he have an opinion. i personally think metroid has sucked since they changed the genre. it would have been one of the best games ever as a 3d platformer/shooter. you seem to read into his decision not to like MP too much. you should also realize that certain things loose their fun with age.
do you like playing with toy trucks, or playing with action figures? i doubt it, you most likely grew out of it. that doesnt mean they were never fun, cause they were, they just arent fun to you anymore. thats kinda what nintendo has become for me. they havent made a game i have liked since Pikmin. i liked katamari damacy, some people didnt cause it was too strange for them. little big planet looks great, i agree.

Exactly. Looked. For all he knows it could be the most offensive game of all time. The film "Meet the Feebles" looks like Sesame Street. Yet it's one of the most digusting movies you'll ever see. Looks can be deceiving, and I think you've heard that time and time again. Personally, I'm no fan of Metroid, I'm just pointing out something which people always make the mistake of doing.
And yes, certain things do lose fun with age if they are aimed at a narrow target audience. Gears of War is one of them, most definitely. Transformers is another one (which is why in the movie the "human" aspect was the point of focus, so non-robot fans could relate to the movie). Others, however, because of what they're fundementally about, are timeless (and cater to a larger audience). Star Wars is most probably the most famous one. Indiana Jones. Halo to a lesser extent. Those IPs hit deep emotions time and time again.
I'm digressing because I like to talk about stories, lol. But yeah, consider me one of the very few young people who basically went through a thinking process in a year in what people only do in 10. Not being arrogant, mind you. Love Philosophy, it's great :D.
