Which one do you think is a better shooter ? In my opinion its BC2, from Destructible environments to the awesome physics and GFX. The game play is unmatched and the vehicles are a big plus. Also the new maps from previous BC1 and the expansion pack Vietnam is going to be sick. So which game do you think is superior.

Bad Company 2. Only thing Black Ops has over BC2 is the SP which was a blast unlike the BC2 snore-fest. The multiplayer absolutely smashes any CoD though,

Bad Company 2 is fun and the Mp is more tactical and destructive, but in the end Black Ops' MP is just as good if not better in many ways, but with a different swagger of its own. The much, much better co-op, bots and no contest campaign easily edge it out for me over BC2.

Can't compare both.......Very different FPS

-BC2 is an objective based fps so everyone spawn and rush to the objectives so camping wins nothing.

-COD is a run & gun, camp & gun so you must be running around evading bullets to win

That's why some COD fans were dissapoint when making the switch to BC2 because they thought it was another run & gun.

That is probably true. The SP was a decent distraction for me, but its not at all why I bought BC2 :P.

I haven't played BO, and I love BC2, but it is a tad overrated. It's practically the flagship game of MW2 haters, and people treat it like it's the second coming. I do prefer it to MW2, but it still has issues with balance and such that people tend to ignore when bashing MW2, and the skill required is barely above MW2.

You treat CoD like its a bad game, realistically Black Ops has way less camping then I've ever seen in BC2 and in the end just because its a fast paced run and gun doesn't make it any worse. Truthfully speaking camping is rampant in BC2 and is worse when you consider that it either doesn't help your team, or it allows a team to never let the other take a spot.

What balancing issues are there? I am just curious cause I have not seen them and I think it is far more balanced than BF 2142 (the one I used to play).

There isn't much, but they're still there. Snipers are hogged because DICE made them way easier to play as, LMG's are bit too powerful(well one in particular, forgot the name), etc.

You cant compare both games. I prefer CoD anyway...the competitive level is just too high...Plus I cannot play with much teamwork..its annoying....But I love driving tanks, I get easy kills in BC2 with them

+1 respect for speaking the truth. I fail to see why Bad Company 2 gets the foaming-at-the-mouth praise it does. It's a good game, albeit not great.

True that my man! As you can imagine, I am incredibly excited for BF3. Here's to hoping they take the good aspects of Bad Company 2 (the graphics, bullet physics) and combine them with the large scale, multi-vehicle warfare from BF2!

i've been playing BF 2 religiously since i was like 12, i've played easily 300+ hours on the game, PR enabled or not. it is easily the greatest, i still play a karkand match or wake island match when I have the time, truly a great game.

i'm surprised that you wouldn't side with BC 2 since it still retains the original battlefield spirit, for me at least. i've always been a dice fan.

Did you ever play 2142? I have only played 2142 and BC2. I will say that I love both of them but overall BC2 is better IMO. Better balancing, better (due to being more complex) environments, destruction and many guns to chose from. Seeing as to how BF2 and 2142 are somewhat similar I am assuming I would feel the same way for this game.

yeah I agree with this. Again I have not played BF2 but I have played 2142 and BC2. BC2 still feels like BF games and they are far better than CoD, although I had fun with IV.

I was pretty much strangled by games that time and I had no plan in trying out 2142. I was playing BF2 for hours and Quake III as well

2142 was really good also, I loved the progress system in that game, also the lambert was easily one of my favorite guns in the battlefield series. titan mode was incredible, especially pod launching onto one with your squad, sabotaging it and parachuting off avoiding the explosion. such awesome moments. I would seriously play that game, but they made it impossible, I lost my account info and password and I was pretty much screwed, I would have had to buy a new copy if i wanted to play again and I never got around to it. might do it one of these days though.

Bad Company 2 was a really really good game, don't get me wrong. I've put a ton of time into it, and I still play just to snipe every now and then. For me, what hurt it was my lack of love for the Rush mode (really kind of a personal thing), and the bland maps, lower player limit, and de-emphasized vehicles. As a consolized-Battlefield, it was an utter success, but on PC... I don't know. I just can't shake the feeling that it could've been more, and BF2, as flawed as that game is, gave me far more enjoyment, as I felt it was a more... filled out game. With Bad Company 2, they're wasting resources on a garbage single-player, and running a console-centric engine. It just wasn't as good as it could have been, but it was certainly good, and more balanced than BF2 (nice to not be killed by drop-shotters and jets all the time :P). Ultimately, I'm most excited for BF3, as I feel DICE is going to give us the TRUE sequel BF2 deserves. :)

I lost my account info and password and I was pretty much screwed, I would have had to buy a new copy if i wanted to play again and I never got around to it. might do it one of these days though. Dead-Memories

That happened to me with BF2, right after the wide-screen patch dropped and I wanted to get back into it. Luckily my little brother has a username. :D

Again I have not played BF2

NaveedLife

You should play it. It has a lot of problems/engine-related issues, but the wide-scale conflict is amazing, and the expansions (now free!) are awesome. :)

Haha yeah i forget how much fun it is! The pod launches were so awesome :P. I think you canjust your get info on EA's site. I did that for mine. They store it in their database and you can quickly recover it. Maybe I am missunderstanding your problem though, IDK. But anyway, I love both BF2142 and BC2 and hope they make BF3 phenomenal :). To me the games are just so much deeper, team oriented, and fun (less repetitive) than COD.

i've gotten lucky lol, for the past few months or so, the game has retained my password and I've just been logging in that way, to be quite honest, i don't even know the password, if it ever stops doing that I might be screwed lol. i really have to be more organized with all of that stuff.

As a series, hell yeah, I agree. With Bad Company? It's more team-oriented, that's for sure, but the maps are totally repetitive (Rush is in general, actually), and it's really not much deeper, if at all.

Well I lost mine altogether, I don't even remember the email I made the account with, so I'm more or less screwed. I'm fine using my brother's copy, but it sucks having to get him to log on for me. I might just grab a BF2 Complete at Best Buy when I pick up Gran Turismo 5, since I'm kind of hankering to dive back into it.

I find the maps to be great in both 2142 and BC2. I personally love Rush but Conquest is great in 2142. I also do like that there is no squad leader that is the only spawn point. I prefer BC's st*le of making every squad member a spawn point. Both have there ups and downs to me, but I love both very much :).

Its close, but im going to have to say BC2, although this is biased, for i have not put in NEAR the amount of time with black ops.... since i don't own it. I just like the free map packs from dice, although the first ones were not what i was expecting. And vietnam will be awesome. The only thing i think i'd like more about BO is the amount of content. Treyarch really did a good job. I'm glad they got over their problems.

Black Ops has more features but BC2 is simply a much better game simply because it requires more skill and actually rewards teamwork.

Bad Company 2 is still a better game. BOs is finally running smooth for me with the latest patch, the zombie mode is fun, and it is feature packed, but I still prefer BC2's team based gameplay and the actual gunplay. I will probably play more BOs until the VIP pack 7 and Vietnam expansion come out though.

Both games share the same issues as each other:

Camping

Overpowered Perks

Killstreaks (Vehicles) that are overpowered

Weapon Balance

"Meh" Team Play (that's right, BC2 doesn't have the great teamwork people boast about).

BC2 wins easily, I don't really know why people keep making threads comparing BO to other shooters or saying it's going to win GOTY, it's just not that amazing of a game.

cause not everyone shares your opinion.. i think its the best fps with an OVERALL package from what i have played.. I havnt played reach.. so i cant count that but besides that.. beats AVP , Bioshock , bfbc2 imo.

Bad Company 2. Only thing Black Ops has over BC2 is the SP which was a blast unlike the BC2 snore-fest. The multiplayer absolutely smashes any CoD though,

NaveedLife

That is probably true. The SP was a decent distraction for me, but its not at all why I bought BC2 :P.

Same here. I expect Dice to go all out on SP next time though, i still enjoy single player campaigns.

Can't compare both.......Very different FPS

-BC2 is an objective based fps so everyone spawn and rush to the objectives so camping wins nothing.

yugioh3ds
ever heard of support & cover? recons spend most of their time doing that. plus, it gets some extra kills to the team (if you're playing conquest/rush, which honestly, are the best modes to play)

Black Ops has the better campaign.

Bad Company 2 and Black Ops multiplayers differ in style and substance.

I think Black Ops multiplayer is much more balanced and playable enough that people who wanna be able to get their bearing for a sec can do so before shot down by a dual weilding shotgun 13 year old screaming Rambo lines (Thank got they rid of the dual weilding shotgun... now if only they could fix that screaming 13 year old problem :p ). buying things is a neat addictive add on. and if your a gambler you got the wager matches to put your money down for.

Bad Company 2 is much more of my sort of game. amazing sound, vehicles, destructable environment, great effects over all, really good physics (at least considering it's a game and not a simulation), and slightly large enough maps to plan out your won personal or your squads strategy.

I like that a lot more personally.

but really - to be honost - Black Ops is a pretty solid game, and not so damn spastic as MW2's online component was.

Both games share the same issues as each other:

Camping

Overpowered Perks

Killstreaks (Vehicles) that are overpowered

Weapon Balance

"Meh" Team Play (that's right, BC2 doesn't have the great teamwork people boast about).

xYamatox

No...not really.

1) Yeah a couple people camp, but not many. And if they camp its their loss most of the time, or its a smart move.

2) the perks are not overpowered in BC2 I dont think. They give you a different style of play.

3) there are no killstreaks in BC2 and vehicles are NOT overpowered. They are quite hard to use really and if you have a smart team defending you will not be in that vehicle very long.

4) Hmmm I see people use quite a few different weapons and all of them do very well. Of course there are some that not many use, as always in an FPS.

5) BF games (including BC2) are extremely focused around team play. if you dont use our squad to the best of your advantage thats why you are not going to win and you are not going to get the best squad pin :P. Me and my squad almost always get this pin :).

I will always prefer Battlefield to any other type of multiplayer shooter.

The BF1942 demo blew my mind. It is a bit sad how the series has transformed since then. BF2 improved and added a bunch of things, but it also removed much of the ridiculousness and scope that BF1942 reveled in, in favor of tighter military seriousness. So I'm hoping BF3 will take one step forward and two steps back. But at best I expect it'll be BF2 with new bells and whistles, which would still be fantastic of course. And at worst it'll be Bad Company 3, which would be extremely sad but not entirely terrible. It'll probably be somewhere inbetween.

1. Trust me..a lot of people camp in bc2.. especially in buildings ..A LOT!

2. Ye i dont understand this 'issue' so im just going to skip it.. 'perks' in bc2 dont really do anything overpowering.

3. Vehicles ARE overpowered.. I cant begin to count the number of times when my friend and I have joined a game..and our base is being annihilated by 2 helicopters in the air circling and not being able to spawn for more then 2 seconds..and that happens.. A LOT (mainly on the desert map forgot name) This gets extremely annoying when you cant do anything about it really..

4. LMG + medic is unbalanced imo..

5. The intent may be to be focused around team work but very little of that happens (at least on these console bf games) and to be honest... if you play a clan war your going to be using team work regardless of the game... The majority of standard online play there is very little team work.
