PS3 users have exclusives to play without COD. 360 users on the other hand, have nothing to play without CODI hate to defend the lemmings and the COD games, but haven't cows recognized that the COD series sells more than any PS3 exclusive game so the PS3 will be kinda dead without COD.

You do realize the most popular game on PS3 is Black Ops, right? I'm sure MW2 is right up there as well. (or isn't it broken and unplayable on PS3 because of the hacking?)
So is CoD the only thing keeping PS3 afloat? No. Is it the only thing keeping 360 afloat? No. It's a popular series on BOTH consoles, but either could go without it and be fine.
Each console has plenty of great games coming to them. Neither needs CoD to stay "alive".

the 360 is suffereing? last i checked it was the only console of the 3 major ones that had an increase in revenue from 2009 to 2010 (40% increase) and it was the best selling console of January 2011.

Then why does a new COD game for the last couple of games on the PS3 sell more than 8 million copies every single time while a good PS3 exclusive can't even sell close to that many copies. Maybe it as something to do with Activision insane advertisement campaign ever single time a COD game comes out.I still agree that neither system needs COD to survive, but MS relies on it a bit.

Because ofcourse they can't play other multi-plats right? Seriously where do you get your information "90% of 360 owners" are playing CoD and thats all they're playing? "Only houswives buy the PS3 for Blu-ray"?

that's funny, because i know at least 10 people who where diehard Playstation fans, then bought a Xbox 360 and now their PS3 collects dust until they wanna watch a Blu-ray.

3 friends online currently: (Have over 20 but most don't log on till later)
1. Gears 1
2. Dead Space 2
3. Reach
So none playing Black Ops. :D
Compared to my PS3 friends list right now, 2 people online, 1 playing Black Ops, the other using Netflix.

Dont take this the wrong way, i've always respected your opinion on these boards but quite honestly, i dont think anyone has used that defense since 2008.and the only thing keeping the ps3 alive is uninformed consumers that think its the best cheapest available bluray player, when there are infact cheaper stand alone bluray players that have more features and work better.

Great. My cousin's 360 friends list is full of randoms now because all his school friends sold their 360 and bought a brand new PS3. Now they can play COD for free, and their family members can each make a Free user account[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]Dont take this the wrong way, i've always respected your opinion on these boards but quite honestly, i dont think anyone has used that defense since 2008.and the only thing keeping the ps3 alive is uninformed consumers that think its the best cheapest available bluray player, when there are infact cheaper stand alone bluray players that have more features and work better.

its true though...ps3 sucks as a bluray player... it needs a mutliregion hack.
So I guess it's the same on the PS3 too then right?soulitanePS3 have exclusives to play. I can't say the same for the 360

so what spartan is saying is that in the US anyway, ps3 consoles are being sold due to xbox 360 owners running in bunches to get rid of that pesky cancer enducing xbox360 and buying the "sony loves me and will save the world by curing cancer" ps3, except xbox 360 just had ANOTHER month where they kicked ps3's a$$ all over the place... I cant figure this out...[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]Dont take this the wrong way, i've always respected your opinion on these boards but quite honestly, i dont think anyone has used that defense since 2008. im pretty sure that was his point... lame opinion for lame opinion.and the only thing keeping the ps3 alive is uninformed consumers that think its the best cheapest available bluray player, when there are infact cheaper stand alone bluray players that have more features and work better.

think about it, COD is the biggest selling franchise for now and that is what 90% of 360 users play, without the franchise, the 360 would be dead. Lets take a look at the top 4 best seller on the 360 GeoW - sells decent but the FPS fanbase have taken over the 360 Forza - doing good, but not good enough for people to buy a 360 for Fable - after Fable 3, it's history Halo - 2nd best seller but Bungie quit, going Multiplatspartan-kratos
So, you mean PS3 is not alive ? Because it has no game that 90% of PS3 owners play
That's strange. Could of sworn I was playing Hard Corps: Uprising & FIFA 11 earlier today...
..Wait a second. I don't even own CoD! What's going on here OP?
I disagree. Yeah it's the most played game on Live, but if I'm not mistaken multiplats sell better on 360.
