Now this is a subject that pretty much confuses me, and no one seems to know the answer. Now if i buy COD Mw2 for the 360, MS is going to charge me 50.00 a year , order fr me to play online. now the part i dont quite understand is, why is MS charging me 50.00 a year for a game mode that comes on disc? Where i can buy the same exact game for another console, and guess what i can play it onlne for free.

NOw i have been told the reason why MS charges 50.00 a year is for , Chatting, cross gaming chatting, and last to be able to text someone. i dont know about u, but to me that isnt worth 50.00 a year. Is there a ooption for us to not to use those services? i dont know about you guys, but i dont play games to cross chat with someone. i just want to be abel to chat in game with my friends. i dont need someone outside of the game chatting with me. just doesnt any make sense.

so can someone please tell me why are gamers being charged 50.00 a year to play games online.

I agree. Online gaming should just be that: online gaming. Don't give me that extra **** Give me good connection, ability to strategize with my team, and good game modes. I don't **** want to text someone or know when their birthday is or whatever the **** people are paying for

Because the answer is so obvious that everyone should know it.

MS charges for Xbox Live for one reason. People pay for it.

Which is exacly why I replied the way I did the first time.

Because you have to give people reason to subscribe to your service  TC it seems you dont understand how to run a service or a business.

not many xbox 360 owners will admit to this but without xboxlive gold the 360 is pretty much usless. it's not like we all don't know this but saying it makes you feel like a sucker for buying a 360. i plan on dumping my 360 once i get enough for a new pc and a playstation 3.

Ask yourself this question, Why do you care what other people spend there money on ? You dont like the service thats fine no one is asking you to buy it and as u said you play online on PC for free, so why does it bug you so much that we 360 gamers pay for a service you dont care about ?

Judging by your OP and from being here awhile, I know you have asked this question before. If you didn't get an answer to satisfy you the first time or you didn't get the answer good enough for you in the other 25 threads made about this same exact subject every week....why keep asking the question?

quick question to the TC. DO YOU EVEN OWN A 360? I bet you dont because if you did, you wouldnt be asking these dumb questions and hiding behind the fanboy ps3 pijamas. i own a 360 and ps3 and the online on 360 is 10x better than psn. better service, movies, extra dlc that psn doesnt get. just stop now, your making ppl angry with your silly questions. xbl is well worth 50 bux a year. if you get a 360 then you'll understand what im talking about. until then, dont start threads that you have no business in since you dont have 100% facts.

The reason you don't get an answer is because we have been through this hundred's of times on this board and people get tired of saying the same thing to different people. Here is an example.

Thats exactly what i'm saying if it was free MS would be alot less inclined to add new and better features.

What, another one of these? Okay, okay I'll try to mimic the same response I used in one of these threads earlier today; "One full work day can pay for a year of Xbox LIVE. It's not expensive. You just can't afford it because you're poor (okay, I made that one up right now). Now shut up." Now shut up.

IMO Cross game chat is the best feature on the 360. It's not worth 50 bucks a year though.

I like reliable voice chat with my friends. I can get into a game like COD:W@W or Battlefield 1943 and start a private party...and only chat to MY friends while we are playing the game together. It is so much more enjoyable this way. You cant do that with PSN...the voice chat is iffy at best and you cant hold a conversation with your friends while playing. This one feature alone makes it worth paying for LIVE for ME. I have a PS3 and i can play online with it for free all day long, but i rarely choose to torture myself that way. So, being a ps3 and gaming pc owner, i choose to pay for LIVE because it just makes communication so much easier with FRIENDS. Plus i rather enjoy the Netflix options and other functionalities of LIVE. If Live was free, that would be great, but its not and i cant imagine enjoying online gaming as much with out it, so i pay for it.....plain and simple.

I agree private party is great (I mentioned that), but I don't use much besides that and online gaming, which is why I hate paying the 50 bucks a year..

Fine then. Let them pay 50 bucks a month and make online gaming free. I have no problem with that.

Why would anyone pay 50 bucks a month  I find it hilarious how it bugs people that 360 users pay for live. Is it hurting you in some way ?

I have live. Im actually angrier about the wireless adapter I had to buy and the 2 repairs I already made on the 360 >_>.

Because Microsoft introduced the service at $50 a year and people accepted it.

People pay for XBL, that's why MS charges for it.

If people weren't paying I'm sure they'd scrap the fees, but people are.

Also, it's not like you have to pay $50 (or whatever it is) just for one game ....

The day PSN could offer cross game voice chat and party chat features is the day you will see LIVE become free. Until then, pay up or shut up.

MS charges $50 a year for LIVE Gold. It doesn't just pertain to MW2. Do some research before you post next time, buddy.

If that is the only way to get those features, along with netflix and fast updates and demos ahead of everyone else, then yes it is worth $50 a year to me.

I agree. Online gaming should just be that: online gaming. Don't give me that extra **** Give me good connection, ability to strategize with my team, and good game modes. I don't **** want to text someone or know when their birthday is or whatever the **** people are paying for

kingkui
Yeah, and Gaming shouldn't be about watching High Definition movies, or playing yoru CDs or MP3s, or browsing the internet, but guess what, Sony and Microsoft don't care about whether you like paying the extra money for those things because they KNOW YOU WILL.

Don't like it? Don't buy it.

Moving on

spike6566

and once again, no one is able to give me a answer. just like your post. lol no one seems to know the answer, but all they know is, its ok to pay 50.00 for peer to peer gaming.

..because contrary to popular belief XBL does more than just cross game chats/invites and party chat.

I will not bother going through this, it's been discussed numerous times and if this is the best you could troll that's pretty sad.
