COD Vanguard down 26% in physical sales and 44% in digital sales

It's a good thing Activision didn't put all of its eggs in the same basket.

Oh well, I'm sure they'll make up for this with the countless battle passes, microtransactions, deluxe editions, cross gen editions and whatever else Activision is selling people.

Though knowing Activision, they'll probably just double down on the Modern Warfare and Black Ops stuff and live to smoke weed rolled in dollar bills for another day.

Imagine buying this POS just to level up weapons for Warzone. $70 for a bunch of useless weapons that they will overbuff in the first month or two just so people buy Vanguard to have access to them. Game is made for brainless teenagers.

A mountain of shit, rampant sexual harassment at Activision, $70 game, platform exclusive zombie mode, and it's just more of same COD and so-so reviews, plus that fake CEO pay cut, who'd want to buy?

I would imagine that the World War II setting had something to do with that. Also the games have been a yearly juggernaut since the first Modern Warfare and nothing lasts forever. It’s had one hell of a run.

Finally, some good news.

Yeah, the oversaturation is starting to show with this franchise. Why should anyone keep buying CoDs when people are still firmly in Warzone and Cold War? They are milking these stans dry.

Look at Modern Warfare 2 destroying all records next year. You will see a lot of reviewers saying stuff like "the most visceral Call of Duty ever made" and "the most realistic Call of Duty experience we've ever seen. If you're a fan of Ghost Recon or RainbowSix, this game is worth your attention", etc. Shit's too predictable.

The gaming landscape is becoming largely too corporate for my tastes.

COD WW2 actually had an 'identity'. It had a cool 'band of brothers' esque singleplayer and it had a multiplayer with some unique modes. Not my favourite game, but I can't deny I had fun in War mode.

Vanguard is just ... It's a repackaged COD Modern Warfare, it has no identity. It tries to clone better games and fails.

I want this to be an eye opener to Activision, I want them to start making games again, not weak knock offs of the same franchise each year.

I played the singleplayer of that for the first time recently, man what a horrible mess.

Sledgehammer couldn't make a great game if their lives depended on it.

I don't see Sledgehammer as a competent COD studio, they were made by Activision to do Activision's bidding. Completely get why the two founders left to do other stuff.

People are begging COD to stop, people are also begging for more Half life.

In fact Warzone was a true innovation: large map, 150 players, etc... And it cought on.
