COD4 Graphically Owns Killzone 2

I will try not to sound like a complete fanboy because I do truly not care which platform a game comes out on, but after watching all these trailers I can see that COD4 is far and away a better looking game (as of now). While Killzone looked good it was very weak on textures, something I have noticed in all PS3 games. That aside the only thing bothering me is that Killzone 2 looks kinda mundane in the gameplay department. The Halo 3 trailer showed off some cool gameplay that gets people excited but Killzone looks like it is still a cookie cutter FPS with no real innovation.

That said I think that Killzone 2 could be a good game but considering that its coming form a less then worthy developer (gameplay wise) I am still very skeptical.

anyway, I'm not sure about which one looks better. I think they almost look the same, but COD4 looks to be JUST a bit ahead of Killzone in the visual department.

Its pretty much a wash IMO. Killzone does not try to look realistic, its not the art style. But that being said it looks good.

As you said, it looks a lil weak on textures, but the developers have done a few clever things like use of blur and using saved prerendered effects to save on memory bandwidth. It doesnt take away from the fact that the game looks good though. PS3 owners will finally have a game that is worthy of their money spent IMO. It doesnt take away from the fact that my Holiday season will be packed playing MassEffect and Halo3 though.

DOnt get me wrong I think Killzone looks very impressive, but it is not the best looking game to date.

Yeah I get ur point, but alot of people just cant stand the fact that it looks fantastic and feel the need to dump on it or nit pick ever since the trailer was released.

agreed. cod4 actually does look a bit better than kz2...

which is a shame considering people have to spend $500+ tax to play kz2...

i'm sure it'l be better than Killzone, the original, but it's not hard to beat a 6.9 review score...;)

See will killzone have a geomtry system that can cover 12 miles simltansly while still looking great? will it have big open areas like Halo 3? hell i think the spartans in halo 3 look far superoir to any helghast so far

Well that will be great, lets see, COD4 comes out, lets just say....soon, and KZ2 comes out, well lets just say....not soon. Will be a great comparison. KZ2 has had about 4 times the development time of COD4 (I don't know if you remember but CoD2, CoD3 and now CoD4 are all out, and KZ2 still is not even close). My guess, and you can quote it, we will be comparing the graphics of CoD5 to KZ2 because KZ2 won't be released for a long a$$ time.

Incorrect...i'm a huge fan of CoD games and have wasted many, many hours of my life playing Halo 1&2, but still I am actually quite jealous of KZ2. I'll be the first to admit that this is one game that is shaping up pretty well, and should PS3 ever get to like 300 bucks, itwill be a must have for me. But for now i'm gonna stick to my CoD4 and Halo 3 cause I actually own a 360. But enjoy Killzone guys, with some polish it could be an excellent game.
