COD4- PS3 version is better than the 360 (source included)

Damn, this is the part that gets confusing. I have both 360 and ps3. Which version should i buy? PS3 because of the obvious? Or 360 because of the streamlined setup, and always having good friends to play with>?

You mean the game is graphically superior? Lets take into account that it may not be the same case with the online play, with far more xbox live users than Ps3 online service users, and by the sounds of it the online makes up a considerable component of the game. I hate the way these topics allways skip past everything else and imediatly come to conclusions based on a single point/fact/opinion. We wont know what version is beter until the game is released and numerous reviews have been written, and even then there will be some who still disagree.Ek-Andy

You should get the Xbox 360 version because it will have the streamlined setup, achievements, rumble, and it will have slightly better visuals.

I am your source. The 360 was the primary SKU for development of the game. During development the game was ported over to PS3 thanks to two Cell programmers that Infinity Ward paid good money for, and they did a great job of putting the game on PS3. It will be the best multiplat title by far because Infinity Ward made it a priority to make the PS3 version really good.

PS3 owners should be very happy with their version - the disparity in graphics and performance between both versions will be minimal.

But the 360 version will still be slightly better, and I have it on very good authority.

last time i checked, the 360 had a better gpu..
and the only way the ps3 can compensate is by sacrificing cpu power from the cell, which is obviously much needed.

I'm gonna be mad if PS3 version is the superior version. Why the HELL would developers put more effort into a PS3 version of the same game when software sales on PS3 have proven to be much worse overall than 360? That makes zero logical sense. Developers typically don't put tons of effort into software titles for a failing console. I smell bias.

no your wrong, IW have stated that each version on the game was deved independenly. the PS3 version is not a port of 360. It has been stated on thier site.. go look for it.

On the official Call of Duty 4 message boards, one of the developers behind the sexy looking FPS has recently shot-down the rumor that COD4 on the PS3 would run at a sad Madden-like 30FPS with little to no anti-aliasing, versus the 360 version which has already been confirmed to run at 60FPS with AA.

According to the dev, "Same level of AA between 360/PS3, both @ 60fps. Hate on the PS3 all you want guys, but we've done did it up right for the Sony lovers. Nothing has been 360 footage yet touted as PS3, you crack-heads! I'm not sure whats up with what you guys might have seen at E3, but we do have AA on the PS3."

It's awesome to see Infinity Ward pulling out all the stops and not picking the lazy way out like EA did with their sports games. Plus, they mention that the PS3 will be getting some special COD4 flavored love and that we'll hear about it soon. Hopefully it's something more than lame Sixaxis support, but at this point PS3 fans would be happy just to get a freaking demo or something ...
