There is a great conflict in things relating to Europe. On One hand, some media sources are saying ground breaking sales. On the other hand, near empty queues, even at launch hubs in australia and franch suggest otherwise. My question to you cows, is can YOU prove that the ps3's have been sold to consumer, not retailer. I put it this way because you cows love to laud vgcharts, and seem to hate the fact ms sold figures are to retailers, while Sony sometimes uses shipped to warehouse as sales figures...

Are those 600,000 ps3's in peoples homes, so people can play its "strong" line up, or are there alot sitting in stores, with people outside waving we have 70 ps3's in stock, come get some. Or did 600,000 people wake up with their wallets emptied into the coffers of Sony.

Blah, blah, blah.

Sony sucks...yeah we get it.

I know this, but sayinig negative speculations like this is just wasting our time. There has to be more entertaining threads out there.

Either way, PS3 outsold 360 and Wii's launches, regardless of supply issues, they did it. Give them that, and let it rest.

Considering the BBC reported that it was 1 million shipped and 600K sold over a period of 2-3 days...yeah, thats enough proof.

We do not have to prove anything. Since you are posting the questions, why don't you go and do some research and find out. Then you can post the links up.

Common knowledge but I'll get a link to help you anyways.

More than a million consoles were shipped across Europe on launch day last week with 600,000 sold.

P.S. You edited too slowly.

I'm asking a damned valid question, and if all you can do is say whine, then it proves my point. My qualm was sold to retailers or to people. Sony has been flexible with "shipped" before, i.e. to warehouses. If someone could give me a link that says sold to people, I'll admit the ps3 did well.

Edit: Ok i'm satisfied

Owned?

Well, I didn't think Sony did well, but I see now due to your thread I know the truth. Crap. I thought it flopped in Europe....now I find it did better than the 360 and Wii launchs.

You mean this highly anticipated system that was delayed only sold 60% of it's stock.  That is a miserable failure.  Sony should be embarrassed.

60% = MORE than Wii or 360's launch. That's how it rolls, son.

Fact is, Sony did it. That's that. Coming up with crazy stats is M$ job for E3 and websites, leave that to them. The propaganda doesn't work here, son.

The Initial Wii shipment in Europe sold out in the first two days.  Unfortunately Nintendo only shipped a little over 325k units.  It would have easily sold more if they had the units.  A 60% sell through sucks.
