Come on Sony where is the price of the PS5?

Fan boys on here where claiming Microsoft was scared and weak for not releasing pricing.

Well now they have.

So why haven't Sony?

There is no excuse for them to not bring out the price now.

Are they crunching numbers to see where they can get away with price wise?

Are they scared?

Is it the issue with not getting it out worldwide?

They might be waiting for Tokyo Game Show, but what do I know 🤷‍♂️

PS5 $499 (matches the x-series x in price its a better brand its got more games its got a better ssd people won't care if a little weaker)

PS5 Digital $450 its way more powerful than the series S and disc drive is cheap but knock off 50 dollars seems fair as people now buy all there games through your digital store.

Well Sony needs to be wary, because if they stuff this up it would almost sink the company.

AND they are just scared that's why they wait for MS to announce their price and see what/if any backlash they get, that and they will try to undercut them, same thing with E3, Sony waits to see if MS screw up so they can make a cheap 15sec video out the back, like they did with the whole lending a game to a friend thing at the start of this gen.

This is system wars so obviously this should be posted.

But on a side note the price would help me make my mind up on what I buy in what order.

Would like the PS5 digital to be £249 and available in my country as it would be a no brainier cos I can play the games I not played on PS4. But we dont know price or even if it will come out in November in the UK

@ProtossRushX: This is where Sony screwed up. Nobody will buy a discless version for 50 bucks less than the full ps5, especially at $450 bucks when a discless Xbox is 150 bucks cheaper.

Even if Sony go for 400 bucks for the discless, it's still 100 more than Xbox....

Sony knows the PS4 sold well initially because of price....and power FACT.

So as a multi console real gamer I want to see Sony return fire and announce £400 and £300 for the ps5

In all honesty that would be the best move if Sony could pull it off.

Sony's strength right now is that both versions of the PS5 have the same specs, putting it above the Series S and Closer to the X.......

Then a year Later announce PS5 Pro which is $499 and stronger than the Series X lol

@sealionact: Sony can charge more for the digital model and still sell more. PlayStation is a significantly bigger brand than the Xbox.

IMO, they should come in at 400 and 450. I'm not "predicting" it, I'm just saying this is what I think would be reasonable and competitive in terms of price and relative power to the XBox lineup.

However, I don't think that will happen - their brand is stronger, and if their price was so great I think they'd have come out with it already. I bet we're looking at something like 450 and 500. And that may well be lower than their intended price a few months ago. Fortunately, like I said the brand is strong and I don't think it will struggle to sell at that price

With MS revealing their prices, I expect Sony to announce the optical drive PS5 at either $450 or $500. Maybe a small undercut but not much of one. I expect the digital only PS5 to be $100 less.

I'm pretty sure the only reason we got the price of the Xbox systems is because it got leaked and MS was either forced or said f**k it. A big thank you to the leaker.

@ProtossRushX: I think 450 is too high for the digital personally. Should be 400. Can't see why anyone would want to be stuck with PSN as the only source for games the entire generation just to save 50 bucks.

Yeah really, it sure would be nice to know. Anyway I think the prices will come next week sometime which was probably the original plan for Microsoft as well but things got leaked so they just went with it. I’m still expecting the PS5 to be $499 and the PS5 Digital to be $399.

Something Lems forget is that gen 8 was the worst possible gen to lose considering a lot of people bought games digitally. Lots of people are going to go where their library is. Lots of the 120 million PS4 owners will go with PS5 just because it's backwards compatible.

I mostly (almost exclusively) game digitally on consoles so I will take the $50 off.

@tormentos: let's face it most people, myself included, would prefer to buy a PS5 over the Xbox Series X/S. Even if it does cost more. It might be 'weaker' but Xbox has barely any exclusives to make that work in their favor anyway. PlayStation is just a better console than the Xbox and nothing I have seen has shown me otherwise for their upcoming consoles.

no im betting it going to be 399 for digital. they will make the 50 bucks back in digital sales. sony makes more on digital than physical because of store getting profit and no used games.
