Yeah I've been off the boards for a couple of months and I've sort of come around to PC gaming a bit. Not saying you have and not saying I no longer game on my numerous consoles, just saying that the quality and upside of a PC is difficult to deny.Spartan070
Spartan070, I barely recognized you. :o
Not really. It's hard for people nowadays to keep up with the rapidly increasing system specs, vista caused quite a load of confusion in the switch for games, and the genres it's not getting are really limited.kittykatz5kIts the equivalent of switching generations on your console. Oh noes, I can't keep up with teh 360! besides, you only upgrade of your own volition. A 2 year old system can still play the greatest looking upcomming game, just not on max settings. Console players need to realize something here and now. You DO NOT have to upgrade to get graphics better than or equal to consoles.

That still doesn't help with the second problem, genre veriety. Lets face it, any platformer or sports game or racing game or genre outside of FPS and stratagy is basically bettero on a console. That is unless you buy some added peripheral, in which case is the same as my buying a mouse/keyboard for a 360.

Platformers? I'll give you that. Sports? We have plenty of sports games. Racers? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! We had the only next gen AAA racing title till the release of Forza, and still have the most high quality racing titles. I'll be brazen enough to say PC is leading in Racing titles. Its the equivalent of switching generations on your console. Besides the fact that a controller is nearly guaranteed to work on a pc and the KB-m isn't exactly supported...
I think the PC goes through phases... usually when i decide to upgrade. When I upgrade and my setup can handle the graphics etc then I think PC gaming is the ****. Also when new game types come out on PC then its the best.
Currently though I don't see much past FPS/RTS and MMO (which I hate) games that tend to be very derivative.
However Crysis might make what I've just said a load of bull.

Just answer one simple question, what new exciting games are coming to PC?
Just like how PC clearly has the better FPS games... oh wait, all the high rated ones are on consoles.kittykatz5kEver heard of standards? Halo 2 7.0 PC? "A great game that will appeal to NO ONE who has played recent PC shooters anyone? The PC is leaps and bounds beyond consoles in terms of games. Its standards are astronomical. If you wanna see our upcoming games, go see Adrian Werner's "Why its good to be a PC gamer 2007/2008". Its stickied in the PC forums. We have the most announced exclusives.

Yep, it's me. Turned in my "Halo-corpse-humping" avatar for some snazzy Half Life 2 apparel.:D
You can play on a regular tv too and you don't use your HDtv just for games. If you like PCs so much buy ...no ...marry one.turgore
Yeah, but if you play on a regular TV it looks like absolute crap. I would never think of playing PC games at SD resolutions. We've been "HD" gaming at higher resolutions years and years now. If you use an SDTV for you're console, you just need a very cheap PC if you want to run you're PC games at SD resolutions, making the "YOU HAVE TO SPEND $5000 EVERY MONTH TO UPGRADEZ LOLZ" arguement void. And I use my PC for much, much, much more than games. There MUUUUUCH more usefull than HDTV's.
As for the last comment..yeah, that's really mature.....how old are you? 12?
Usually unheard games flop horribly like infernal and a lot of those exclusives nobody heard of . ANd do these games look that exciting to you :
Is this a coloring game ^
At least tehy look better than the Miis ^
Blazing angels looks better and Ace Combat 6 will put it to shame.^
Wow PS1 level graphics ^
Forza 2 pwns this ^.

You can hook up your console to your PC monitor.
Not so. Here's some genre consoles don't even touch: Flight Sim Naval Sim Tank Sim Train Sim Space Sim Grognard Games (as in Operational Art of War) 4X Economic Management Adventure (as in Longest Journey, Grim Fandango) And so on and so forth. There are many, many more genera on the PC than on console. That still doesn't help with the second problem, genre veriety. There goes the "TEH BIG SCREENZ" and "TEH COUCHZ" arguement console fanboys love to use. Also, how is it playing with your friends (another arguements you guys like to use against PC gaming) on a monitor? Must be hard....
YEah unfortunately nobody has really heard of them and they are mostly the same series. Like seriosuly int hat list of AAAs you guys have Chessmaster... turgoreDo you even know what you're talking about? Xbox is the one with Chessmaster in it's list of AA titles, NOT the PC. Look here.
1. All my friends are over 30, as am I. We don't crowd around the games when we visit each other, we actually go out and do things. 2. What's 'mistery''? 3. Got tired of fighting games after Street Fighter II Turbo Champion Edition back in the early 90's.There are 3 things PC gamers won't enjoy.
1. Playing with your friends in the same room .
2. The mistery of a new system. They are all over the news, launch parties , crowds etc. I don't see that with your videocards.
3. Good fighting games .

I love this. All the talk, chatter, hype, hopes and expectations surrounding a system launch are unmatched with other types of video game news.

You're point? Consoles also recieved chessmaster, but a lower score. Doesn't make up for the fact that PC had twice as many AAA/AA's as PS2 last gen.......

Halo 2 is an old game. THe same thing happened with resident evil 4. They don't improve the graphics ,sound , gimicky auto-aim , games tend to be longer these days , etc.

Why do I need to concern myself with anyone other than myself? If they pertain to me, then it's relevant to me. Everybody I know is a PC gamer. The only console gamers I know are my friends kids, and they play their PCs more too (CS, some free MMORPG, and Warcraft III are what they play mostly). On the converse, I could say your original statement pertains only to you. Congratulations.[QUOTE="br0kenrabbit"][QUOTE="turgore"]1. All my friends are over 30, as am I. Not really. It's hard for people nowadays to keep up with the rapidly increasing system specs, vista caused quite a load of confusion in the switch for games, and the genres it's not getting are really limited. I'm a shermit (Sheep hermit) and play my PC a lot, but it's hard to even call this a great gaming device anymore.kittykatz5kWhere the PC lacks in platformers and fighters, Consoles lack in Adventure games, Simulators, Strategy, MMO's and puzzle games. Which one outweighs the other?
