[QUOTE="funsohng"]i think the amount of polygons can be somewhat covered with good art direction. i remember watching a preview for uncharted 2 and they were saying the walls were actually flat, but because of the art direction (and texture res too) it looked like it was 3dMC3887I remember Digital foundry stating that aswell. Also, yea it can but it irks me when people say X console can't do this because X game LOOKS so good. Uncharted does have DOF, SSAO, etc. But it just doesn't seem as technically advanced as other games (Like the ones mentioned) UC2 doesn't have fulltime SSAO.

I have 1000 Gamerscore on RESIDENT EVIL 5, and I ALSO have a PLATINUM TROPHY on RESIDENT EVIL 5.
My opinion is that I agree with the majority of the world's gaming Reviewers and Critics, which is that Uncharted 2 blows RE5 away graphically.I'm talking visually, graphically, technically. Whatever you want to say. There is no comparison.
I have not compared any PC graphics (I don't like waiting for ports, I have to play NOW lol.), so if that's where this thread is going....
Let's just get it over with and post 100,000 CRYSIS pics and be done with it.

UP.S I think GTA4 and KZ2 are beating other games(console) this gen (technically), so far. GOW3, Alan wake, H:R, that new ICO game, rage, and crysis 2 might change my mind. P.P.S: Happy new year!MC3887
I've NEVER been impressed by GTA4's graphics. They're probably the worst out of all the games I have for my PS3. I really do like Killzone 2 though.

No, not really an opinion. More like a fact. Uncharted 2 just looks better. I have both too. Resi5 has better explosions I guess, but everything else is better in Uncharted 2. But if we use the PC version of RE5, it probably looks better than Uncharted 2.No, not really an opinion. More like a fact. Uncharted 2 just looks better. I have both too. Both games look great on my ps3. I have a hard time picking which one I think looks better.

Really? Really large map, it cannot predict were you are going to go so they cannot maximize resources like Uncharted does because it is so linear. The day and night cycle= no baked in lights. Euphoria- Very Very complex physics engine(VERY). Also, just the amount on screen, it is rediculus.[QUOTE="MC3887"][QUOTE="funsohng"]i think the amount of polygons can be somewhat covered with good art direction. i remember watching a preview for uncharted 2 and they were saying the walls were actually flat, but because of the art direction (and texture res too) it looked like it was 3dbrennan7777

Did you see the amount of polys they are pushing? 1.2 vs. 3-4 million while I believe Uncharted has better textures, and HDR. While RE5 uses just bloom, but seem to have higher resolution explosions like you said..No, not really an opinion. More like a fact. Uncharted 2 just looks better. I have both too. stop using the opinion card.....its a FACT that uncharted 2 is techincaly better.......you do know that some of the background in resident evil 5 are prerendered right......that is massive fail in my book
RE5 blows away uncharted 2 in scale and things on screen, plus it supports 4xMSAA on xbox 360..let alone the superior PC version with 2 the detail and running over 60fps..TessellationIs that a joke?
LMAO resident evil 5 backgrounds are all 3D,that worked last gen,now they are fully 3D,they were 3D already even with RE CVX,RE outbreak and RE4.stop using the opinion card.....its a FACT that uncharted 2 is techincaly better.......you do know that some of the background in resident evil 5 are prerendered right......that is massive fail in my book

Show me a level on Ucharted 2 with 20 or 30 enemies on screen please, and if my post is a joke,so is comparing UC2 to Crysis when it doesn't even come close.
Show some screen from RE5 and tell me where the f*ck are those polygons. Honestly, I completed RE5 on my PC and I think this game looks just average, shytty extures, low polgon enemies models, low polygon enviroment. I think this number came from porticular moment in a cutscene probably. I coudn't find good source but apparentlly Crysis render 2m polygons/frame, anyone thinks RE5 looks better? :) As for U2, this game is technically and artisticaly amazing.
I think RE5 looks great, however polygon count isn't a very good way to judge graphics imo. I think RE5's high polygon count comes from the large number of enemies on the screen, there can be over 20 of them in one place.
But that doesn't really make up for some of the poor textures and the lack of interactive environments/objects. It just feels a bit old-fashioned in the sense that that it's very linear and scripted, objects cannot really be moved or broken unless they're meant to be. That's why something like GTA4 is more impressive to me, the world feels dynamic and alive which is where games should be heading.

Epic scale of cities? you meant the huge cities that you can't even get to  sure many games have that kind of scale too, even last gen ones ,scale is not only the environment, scale is things happening on screen, explosions ect, what's the point of having a huge ''fake'' environment that i can't even visit LMAO.
am i the only one here that is not impressed with RE5 graphics? i have both PS360 version and didnt really impressed with the visual, yeah its great but gears2 and U2 are better IMO.

yeah and that one. and the game itself is very disapointing. luckily the coop is fun.
Uncharted 2=1.2 million triangles per frame- I think most people have seen the video were they state this... RE5= 3-4 million polygons, per frame http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/face-off-resident-evil-5-article. X360 version of RE5- 0-4xAA(Variable) PS3 Uncharted 2- 2xAA Now with that said, I do not know the texture resolution for each individual game, but it is safe to assume that Uncharted's are higher. I just wanted to do the comparison, shows that pretty visuals does not mean the actual graphics. P.S I think GTA4 and KZ2 are beating other games(console) this gen (technically), so far. so much wrong with this statement coming from a CAD/3d modelling student.
1.A huge part of graphics is how they look and how pleasing they are to the eye.If we are talking bout games i can argue Crysis looks better but i feel Uncharted 2 or Halo were more pleasing to the eye due to their respective artystyles and that they were more pleasing to my eye as they make the game feel a more immersive experience and more enjoyable to certain people but there is a saying diffrent horses for diffrent courses since everyone feels diffrently.
2.Its not how much poly's you render its how you use em.Higher poly counts dont always mean better looking just more calculation on the chip.
I'm very impressed with its visuals. I'm playing the PC version at 1920x1200 with 4x AA and it's easily one of the best looking games I've ever seen.
This may sound weird, me being a hermit and all, but I'm actually playing it locked at 30 FPS. It makes for a much more cinematic feel, while if locked to 60, it's "too" smooth for me to actually notice the superb motion blur effect and animations.

if it were locked to 24fps then it would be true cinema xD wonder if its possible to do that lol.But if you could then it would be the best.Still it shows in a way that higher FPS does not always mean for better experience.
Still need to get a shot of RE5 on the PC :( i only have the lowly PS3 version :'(
