Compensation for Faulty Consoles

If any of you had the RROD at 360 Launch, then you recall being compensated by MS with your choice of either:

1 controller

or

1 of 3 available launch titles

Will Sony do this for their loyal customers?

Sony can't afford that

I had RROD 4 times and E74 once...my first happening within the six months or so of the console's 2005 launch (I bought two at launch). I didn't get any controllers or launch titles.

They will send you a box to send back to Sony so they can fix it.

4, my first one less than a month after i got it in 2007.

None of my friends who got RROD's were compensated anything. Except one time one of them was given a HDMI console to replace a non HDMI console, but that was it.

I never got any RRODs myself.

People have the manufacturer's warranty they can use but they'll have to pay to ship things back to Sony or MS. There's also store warranties they can buy. I wouldn't count on there being any kind of RROD free fix/replacement unless there's widespread issues and it's needed to boost consumer confidence.

Sony already compensated their network being hacked... though i can't agree they had to make up for it it did happen. Now how a console that hasn't even been launched being accused as faulty ? For all we know the people posting it could just be BSing... like people always do. Because i imagine a normal person would wait until the release of the console to call sony for the obvious support they'll give just like the millions of electronic companies do.

In fact they charge people until 2007 for repairs $150 and the xbox 360 first warranty wasn't even 1 year it was 90 days then extended to 1 year and then latter on 2007 extended to 3..lol

I had 4 consoles and my first RRoD was February 2006.

All I got was 1 month XBL

I got nothing for my 5 RRODs except replacements and a couple of shipping bills.

I got a controller and a play and charge kit. But, it took two weeks to get the 360 back. When my PS2(s) died, I had a new PS2 delivered to me the next day.

I guess some people are bad at complaining to customer service?

Mine broke 1 month after the warranty and MS told me to screw myself. Then after the RROD fiasco they sent me a check for the cost of the repair which was like $150.00. Then about a year later the disk drive went out and they did nothing for me.
