Can component cables display 1080p or do I need HDMI for that?

Certain component cables are capable of 1080p, and certain HDMI cables canot do 1080p. HDMi can go beyond 1080p however. If you have a 1080p TV......well, get HDMI, if you don't, choose whichever.

Yes,  component cables are capable of 1080p.  But only some HDTV's accept 1080p thru component
