I think it's hilarious how nit-picky everyone is getting about graphics now, especially since the 360 and Ps3's graphics look exactly alike. You can stare at your favoritecomparison of graphicsall you want, it's not going to makeeitherlook any prettier.
Graphics matter very little. What really matters is a game's presentation and art direction...how a game is designed. This is what made games like Faxanadu look so beautiful despite the immensly limited capabilities of the NES. This is what made Final Fantasy VI look so beautiful. Even games like God of War had brilliant art direction. Graphics are just numbers and specs, art direction is what really makes a game stand out.
Its also a give and take. The 360 is $400 and the PS3 is $600 so you can get those great graphics. For $250 I think that the Wii is a good example of give and take. Its cheaper, but does not have the same "horsepower". Its a trade off.
In the automotive world, you don't get the speed of a Ferrari in a Honda, but most people make that sacrifice for the sake of price tag and economy.
Ok, I am now tired of people saying, "well that game doesn't have good graphics like this game, they suck." How about this. Look at all of the old games from before the year 2000. They have really bad graphics now but also graphics don't count for everything! It's the gameplay that needs to be fun! Now everyone please stop saying these next-gen graphics suck because the all look pretty good to me. Yes, the all do. and they all look amazing.DuDisNow
finally, someone with a brain and a set of eyes for once
Well as long as the game meets modern technical expectations and have good art, then it is perfectly fine. That's exactly what's wrong with the Wii. They could've easily made a $250 console with low-end modern technology like they did with the Gamecube 6 years ago and been losing no money on it. Instead everybody just gets ripped off with 6 year old revamped gamecube hardware.Lazy_Boy88
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker looks better than some games out there today because of the art direction. As long as Wii games like No More Heroes or Super Mario Galaxy or Metroid Prime 3 have good art direction, I really don't care.

That's an option, but that throws backward compatability with GameCube out the window. It also severely reduces the advantage of lower development costs, both for Nintendo and for third parties.
You want a concrete example? Kiss RE:4 Wii edition goodbye forever.
