i really doubt movie gear solid would fit on one or even 2 dvd9sEl_Fanboyyou know how big the game is already? how is the storyline and graphics? where did you buy it? shut up about the dvd, first off, who cares if you have to get up and walk 3 and a half feet to change discs, and second, resistance took up more than a dvd9 worth of space and looks worse than a lot of 360 games that fit on half or less of a dvd9
Hmm the link wont load.. but I'm curious how would microsoft go about getting MGS and Final Fantasy onto there consoles by paying them a large sum of cash? Dahaka-UKI dont t hink they would have to pay a large sum of cash, just match whatever sony is willing to pay. If sony pays 10 million, and microsoft says they will pay 10 million plus their almost 11 million userbase, then who do you think is going to get their way?
Xbox Product Manager at Microsoft Germany put up an interesting post in light of all this Devil May Cry madness that went down yesterday. He put up a post titled one down, two to go. It's a list of three games, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy, with Devil May Cry crossed out. Is this just some sort of outlandish hoping or slight confirmation that Microsoft is infact working on bringing the remainder of the biggest Playstation exclusive franchises over to the Xbox 360? I'm going with the former. Since Microsft has nearly unlimited funds and their Xbox 360 has a much larger user base than the Playstation 3 does. It's only a matter of time.

I agree. Square wouldn't really have that much to gain by porting it to the 360. The 360 isn't doing too great in Japan, and even in America the majority of FF fans are loyal to the PS3. A port would only happen as a last resort if the PS3 really did fail, or if Ms offed enough money.

how do you know that the majority of ff fans are loyal to the ps3? you cant say that until a game goes multiplat and then comparing the sales.Â

Indeed. They're 3rd party. Why would they put out a game for a system with only a handful of million units sold when they can also put it out on a second system and make atleast twice as much money?Â

The question is: Are the enough 360 owners who would buy it for the 360 to justify the port? The 360 may have the bigger user base, but it doesn't necessarily have the bigger fan base.

the thing is, however, you have no idea how many xbox fans actually bought a ps2 for final fantasy. for all you know it could be a lot bigger than you think[QUOTE="YellowPik"][QUOTE="OceanLeet"]maybe MGS but no way does FF make it to 360 and you can say that with how much certainty? it has just as much a chance as any other game does [QUOTE="mtradr43"][QUOTE="crashintome202"][QUOTE="tylerdurden2621"]

But the sales charts don't exactly look too Final Fantasy friendly right now. My guess is that Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon will be a big test they'll be looking at.

I hope Microsoft get Gran Turismo 5. Polyphony Digital might take the same turn as Rockstar. (They are afraid they won't enough money bacuse of the PS3 selling bad). ;)wapahalaNo dice. Sony owns Polyphony.

All I know is I am getting both of those titles, and mass effect is going to be sweet, already have my reserve in.[QUOTE="Dahaka-UK"]Hmm the link wont load.. but I'm curious how would microsoft go about getting MGS and Final Fantasy onto there consoles by paying them a large sum of cash? tylerdurden2621I dont t hink they would have to pay a large sum of cash, just match whatever sony is willing to pay. They're probably also lending expert programmers or providing media connections outside of videogames (something Microsoft cannot match--they don't own movie and TV studios). There's also personal matters giving Sony a leg up. Kojima's obsessed with being the first to maximize the potential of the PS3 and has been going at the project since at least 2004, IIRC. And Sony probably lent Square Enix a hand in creating their finely-tuned White Engine.
the thing is, however, you have no idea how many xbox fans actually bought a ps2 for final fantasy. for all you know it could be a lot bigger than you thinkmtradr43And for all you know, it could be a lot smaller. FF10 sold well, but then so did Halo (in fact, the two sold comparably). Others may be snatching the PS2 now because it's at a bargain basement price--bang for the buck, IOW (I got one new at $100). GT3 sold more than both of them, but now it has serious competition in the Forza series. I'm pretty sure MS and Sony will be watching that test even more closely.
Sonys helping produce the MGS movie so the likelyhood of the game jumping ship are slim, but who knows.TheManOfChoiceLike I said, media connections outside of the videogame industry.
Ms has wanted both games for a while now a real long time. rumour were flying about MS courting square since the xbox days all that came out of it was apoorly selling poorly executed port of FFXI. MGS2 was on xbox and MS blew it on marketing.
Chance of eithe FF13 or MGS4 going to 360 are pretty slim both are pretty far into development using cell tailored software. MS might get one or both of these series in the future but I beleive it will be after FFXIII and MGS4
wait a second, wait a second! are you telling me that Microsoft, a company that likes making money, wants Sony, a company who also likes making money , 's 2 last Remaining AAA exclusives (pretty much) to be on their console!?!?!?! get outta here. thats like you saying you want my gigantic house, amazing car, mountains of cash, and hot 17 yearold girlfriend?!?! (i have one of those things btw.)BigBadButters
Good point btw, but I fixed the end for you. (Well for me at least)Â
