Great news cant wait.
Sony does fighting games the best.
Hopefully nintendo can take a few tips from sony from this new super smash game.
Even if they were making a smash games, it'd probably be terrible. All of the smash clones are. None of them have any combo opportunity. Hal Labs is the only developer that made decent smash-style games.ActionRemixI dont know about that, Sony has a lot of goofy characters (sly cooper, jax and dexter, ratchet and clank) that can whip out an arsenal of weapons to make some sweet combos. Dont forget that theres also Cole (infamous) and Kratos who can definitely have some sick moves. On top of that, you have MGS characters like Snake (who nintendo already did) and Raiden. And Drake wouldnt be too bad. Its a shame that Sony does not see a potential in this. Its a guarenteed money maker right here. Its almost absurd that no one in Sony is pushing for this.
Sure they do. Sony has a fine lineup of "Mascots", just nothing that your average Nintendo fan is going to be excited about. But that whole "If it isnt Nintendo, it is going to suck" argument is garbage. I know you didn't say it but that is the vibe I am getting from this thread.good thing this is fake they dont have the cast or mascots for it

What are you talking about? Cole, Jax and Dexter, Final Fantasy characters, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Kratos, Nathan Drake (if Nintendo made combos for Snake, Sony can do it for Drake easily---just throw in grenades or a quick rocket launcher), MGS (Raiden/Snake), Killzone, Resistance, and more.... Sony has just as many----if not more iconic and memorable mascots than Nintendo, stop trolling.good thing this is fake they dont have the cast or mascots for it

Agreed. Sony has more than enough characters to make a smash brothers clone. I think it would be cool.
Setting aside that it's fake, I don't think it couldn't be done.good thing this is fake they dont have the cast or mascots for it
Mario1331
There are sufficient characters to work with across their properties.
The only issue would be the disparity in art style between the various games; but that could be rectified by using a 2.5D stylised approach like the MvC games.
I wouldn't mind seeing Sackboy kick the crap out of Kratos.

No one knows who the guys from Killzone and Resistance are, and aside from the obvious Naughty Dog/Insomniac/Sucker Punch characters, they have very little to draw from. Maybe the ICO stuff, but that's a maybe. On the other hand, Nintendo has Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Fire Emblem, Earthbound, etc, etc to draw from, all of which work in-game. I think the point was pretty obvious. When you can list every Nintendo franchise off the top of your head, let me know. Donkey Kong, Star Fox, and Advance Wars, too. You happy?I don't think it'd be crap necessarily, but saying that Sony has more iconic characters to build this kind of game around that Nintendo does is laughable. In reality though, the most memorable/iconic characters of the SSB games are from only a few of Nintendo's franchises.DarkLink77
The difference is that Sony's franchises don't lend themselves well to contributing multiple characters.
Um... since when?
DarkLink77
Since sony re invented the fighting genre with games like tekken for the ps which sony and namco collabed on for the original ps1. Actually the FF, jak and daxter killzone, mgs are iconic playstation games, and characters, those games were made famous by a sony system, and the devs who made those games will let sony design the game. Nintendos super smash styled games, are highly over done, id like to see a new smash esque game, but one designed by sony, id like to see the game done right, and only sony can do that.

how is smash bros. overdone? you know there are three smash bros. games spanning twelve years, right?Um... since when? Does sony even make fighting games? I like sony but i don't see how can they top Nintendo, they do have some characters to use enough i would say,but Nintendo has that lock, hell i went into a even that was paying and you played some games saw what was new,and Smash Brother was one of the most popular games of the show, sure it was full with, nerds and kids, but the lines were very long. I my self don't like the game to kiddy for my taste, but i did the long line never the lest so that my son could play it.[QUOTE="WyteCollaCrim"]

And C, I never have heard about Fire Emblem and Earthbound until Smash Bros. So what does that say about your memorable argument? Nothing. That it is all subjective. The only valid argument you have is MGS and FF, and all I can is that Sony does have a memorable cast and they do not need MGS or FF to even make a smash bro type of game, but with that said, I would not be surprise to see Sephiroth, Cloud, Tidus, Snake, or Raiden to make an appearance if Sony decides to go with it. 2. The Killzone characters aren't memorable or iconic at all. IMemorable FPS heroes are the Chief, Duke Nukem, Serious Sam, the Doomguy, etc. Killzone and Resistance do not have that level of memorable character.
3. That sucks. Fire Emblem in particular is amazing.
4. They have some, but I don't think they have the content that Nintendo does to make such a game. Nintendo could probably pull more memorable characters from Mario alone than Sony could from all of it's first party franchises.
