Which is absolutely ludicrious. Do you think it's taken developers this long to master a game engine or are they just waiting for new console hardware to be released to up the graphics level? According to the article they're prepping for new hardware; apparently it must be in console form. Why all of a sudden are console releases the dictators of graphic capabilites; discuss.

I thought for sure it was Unreal 4. Now I'm curious how Unreal 4 will look when it's finally shown.

Well of course but im not comparing it to this... :| Just saying that engines are always being improved and in the right hands can look spectacular. If it was for PC's or Nvidia helping these guys out they wouldn't of been able to do this.

Yes, but the Modern Warfare games look like crap! :P

By todays standards it isn't the best looking game but it blows away early Quake 3 engine games like RTCW. So the point he made is valid.

No wonder why Cliffy B wants PS4 and 720 to be more powerful so they can run Unreal Engine 4 properly.

The problem is too many people whine about the price so we'll probably get watered down next gen console's yet again to satisfy the mass market.

I doubt it was usign the standard UE3 license where u just get the SDK and use UEscript to make games. MY bet is that they bought the license for the source code and heavily modified it. No way UE3 can do that stuff

They are actually working along side them and it will look great on Keplar as Im sure thats what its running on. The console are TBA so fingers crossed the game is pushed onto PS4/720 if they are announced next year.

If you're cabable of producing much better graphics then why would you wait for a newer sytem when there are PC's that are cabable of displaying these graphics now? I think it's crap that money is the reason. It's like telling Michael Jordan; okay we know you can win championships but we'll pay you more to sit on the bench half the time and not play nearly as well. I don't think he would go for that and neither should a lot of these companies. It's utter crap that they can't be producing better now. If you were a game designer, wouldn't you want to display your best product?

I don't care if it's using the engine from ET on the Atari 2600. When it completely destroys anything that this gen of consoles will ever produce, I don't see why it matters.

It's good news for the WiiU and why I'm not that worried if it doesn't support UE4. UE3 still has lots of potential.

nothing special here i knew it was UE3 all along lulz.. namely UE3.95 one of its final revisions before next gen engine launches. how do i know this?? well that would be simply there are other UE3.95 games out there with visuals very similar to 1313.. so its primarily why it doesnt suprise me. transformers: fall of cybertron is an example

Im sorry but no other game I have seen using the engine can even remotely touch the visuals used in 1313.They said they use a crap load of plugins to get it to look the way it does. It is very much CG level and the gameplay looks exactly like the CG from the force unleashed games

Bad news when you consider its something like 6 yrs old and something out of old gen when you consider the Wii:U as next gen.

UE4 on 720, PS4 and PC will make the Wii:U being the lonely kid in the corner watching everything out of the party.

no those visuals dont impress.. ive seen better.. 1313 will age to dust in its ugly grays, blacks and browns that take 0 advantage of the bright vibrancy of both UE3.95 and modern tv's. im going to go out and say it. saintrow 3 looks better than this pewp shute.

After hearing the developer speak apparently the game is supposed to look gritty. I highly doubt there are a lot of bright vibrant colors in the depths of level 1313.

which is why it will visually age alot worse than SR3 will. notice dem vibrant colors and use of lighting. i can actually tell where i am rather than say every level in KZ3

[QUOTE="egger7577"][QUOTE="ionusX"]no those visuals dont impress.. ive seen better..

You're making yourself look pathetic now.

Main problem with your arguement is that Saints row doesn't go for realism. Also Star Wars is creating a totally made up environment not even set on earth so it can look whatever way it wants. By your reckoning BF3 won't age well either because of it's lack of colour and Rayman looks better because it has more colour
