I think console gaming is so much more diverse and creative then pc games. On a console you have a stable format that is pretty cheap for a 4-5 year period of time.Kidtendo

If I want to have fun I go to my local GAME store and laugh my a*** off at console sheep being milked £45 £50 per game...

Games are the biggest part of gaming expenses....so if 10 games per year save me £250 thats a 8800GT + 2gb of 800DDR2RAM upgrade PER YEAR...which means 9800GT, 10800GT etc etc....

Are you stupid? You can't prove somebody wrong with an opinion.
2nd, Mario 1, 2, 3, galaxy and every other one is the same game? hell no. They use the same character but the games are really different. The only thing I see wrong is your fanboy view point.
in part i think you're right. consoles have a larger amount of quality games. however, pc is more likely to have the best game from a genre.
there are a lot of fps' on consoles, many of which are awesome. but pc has counter strike. and it's like that for most genre's. except turn based rpg's. there are hardly any on pc.

Every mario up until 64 was teh same. Every mario has teh same story. Oh btw.... this thread is dumb.
Console gaming kicks the crap out of PC gaming. This is, incase you mistaked it for fact somehow, in my opinion.
There isn't a better platformer than Super Mario Galaxy on PC.
There isn't a better racing series than Gran Turismo and Mario Kart on PC.
There isn't a better Strategy RPG than the Fire Emblem series on the PC.
There isn't a better RPG than Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Paper Mario, and Pokemon on the PC.
There isn't a better first person adventure than the original Metroid Prime on the PC.
There isn't, in my opinion, a better strategy game than Pikmin on the PC.
There isn't a better action adventure series than God of War, Zelda, Ninja Gaiden, and Devil May Cry on PC.
I could keep going, but you get the point. My favorite FPS of all time, FEAR, is on the PC, though.
So, in short, console gaming kicks the living crap out of the PC, in my opinion. I have different tastes than you, so don't act like it's crazy than I prefer Pikmin over Starcraft.

Thank you for the incredibly convincing argument. Seriously, Mario Kart DS, Mario Party 8, and Super Paper Mario is so much like Super Mario 64.
Please, that is the dumbest statement I have ever heard... No offense. How the hell is every Mario game since Super Mario 64 been the same if he has tons of spin-offs, with multiplayer features?
Also, don't get angry. I didn't call you dumb. I said what you said was dumb, so don't go crazy on me. :P

They are certainly not the same. Lost Levels looked like an expansion to the original, but it was crazy hard and japan only. The US smb2 was extremely different then the original as well. As far as the rest of the platforming mario games.. if you feel each one is the same, then its probably fair to say every platforming game is the same game. Just because he's being ridiculous and ridiculing PC gaming doesn't mean we have to stoop to his level and belittle great console games.
Why is it that whenever one poster makes a hateful thread attacking on area of gaming, we get tons of people coming into defend it by attacking his prefered(or what we assume is his preferred) area of gaming?
Anyways, how about console and pc games are great? How about, great games are great regardless of their platform? Each system offers a great variety, consoles are not better then pcs and pcs are not better then consoles.

And I don't think the consoles have anything to answer to Sins of a Solar Empire and the slew of RTS's already on the PC dating back over a decade.

There isn't, in my opinion, a better strategy game than Pikmin on the PC.DeathScape666See my comments on RTS games.
Now, my turn.
Can you think of a better team-based online shooter than Team Fortress 2 (also in Orange Box). Is there a console shooter to match the graphical splendor and physical completeness of Crysis? Where else can you play World of Warcraft, a game which has more standing $15/month members than most consoles have total sales? And don't forget the simpler games like Sims and all those webgames. The list goes on. Sure, consoles and PCs have their specialties, but taken in their totality the PC brings quite a bit more to the table than the consoles.
Plus, if you're feeling really adventurous, what about using your PC to build your own game?
I already stated it. Heck, I said it three or four times, "In my opinion." Yeah, I know that some people prefer Elder Scrolls over Paper Mario and Pokemon. But guess what? I don't. It's not crazy at all. All three series get great reviews and many people like them.
I don't understand what you mean by one thing you said. Youy said that, "Why does Strategy RPG matter if you have RTSs?" I find Strategy RPGs one hundred times more fun than RTSs. I'm not a big fan of the latter, but haven't given Sins of a Solar Empire a try yet.
I don't like first person shooters that much. I like platformers more. Nintendo just fits me perfectly as a gamer. I'm sorry, but I'd take Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, and many other games over Starcraft, Crysis, and STALKER any day.
No, I haven't played any games in The Orange Box... yet. My PC can run every game in there, and I would really love to give Half Life 2 a try.
I will say this about PC gaming: It's awesome that I can get a slew of great games without spending money to buy the actual console. My dad bought this labtop, not for gaming, but for everything else. It turns out that I can get games like BioShock, FEAR, The Orange Box, Starcraft, Call of Duty, Age of Empires I, II, and III, and many other games... without having to buy a memory card, controller, or console! That's truly awesome. Would I update my PC? No, but I will try to find some games on PC that I can run.
I don't hate PC gaming. I just hate everyone overrating it.

I prefer console gaming. The games I grew up playing on the PC, mostly FPS, are now available on consoles. At the same time, there is absolutely zero effort to console gaming: I come home, plop down, and hit the button. PC games are a LOT simpler than when I started (anyone remember UNIVBE or SET BLASTER?) but still don't reach the set resolution and forget, auto-update in every game, single friends list, etc. simplicity of consoles.
In order to get that kind of simplicity, you have to be willing to cede some control of your gaming experience to the developer, publisher, and platform vendor, and I've never seen a diehard PC fan who would accept that kind of tradeoff. I've spent plenty of time with complete control of my gaming experience, but now, after a long day of work, I'm happy to allow others to make those choices for me so I can just focus on having fun.
aren't you that troll that pretends to like Nintendo but bashes them while calling it "constructive critism" and is really an alt for a famous poster as demonstrated by the Gamertag you had at one time in your sig?HewkiiWho is this famous poster you speak of?
I use this simple equation.
With Console Fanboys = PC Fanboys as do the PC Gaming = Console Gaming. The only time this is different is when you combine the two. PC + Console Gaming = Good .. Fanboys + Other Fanboys = Bad.
But.. Really I am tired of this "PC is better, no no Consoles is better" BS.. They both are weak in areas and strong in other areas.
Sorry, definitely gonna have to go with PC here.
Consoles are so simplistic. All you do is buy them, and play them, there's almost no customization at all.
PC's are like a gamer's dream. They're expensive, but the end result is more than worth it. You can't really know the feeling until you get yourself your first nice custom PC and see what it can really do. The ability to have full control over your game, how to customize it, plus mods, free online, free maps. It's just so much more personal, and IMO, much more satisfying.

They feel teh same to me. I never really put one of the other but I have my preferences but all mario platforming games up until the N64 version feel teh same to me. After that the only similarity between all of them is the story. That's just my opinion about them. Not that it's a bad thing in anyway.
