Look lets put it this way how much $cash$ do console people lose in doing Trade ins at there local game store???

You buy a game at $60 only to trade it in for $25 credit?? thats $35 down the drain. Add all those game trade ins and see how much money you lost!! Hehe dont deny not doing trade ins cause i know every console person dose it just go to a local game store and look at the used game shelf. With the stuff i upgrade from i always use the old parts to rebuild another PC for the kids or wife lol.

Any thoughts?

PS i paid $60 on Mass effect only for it to be a $9 trade in no way!! hehe i kept it

ive seen people trade in 10 games to get 2 in return tell me thats not adding up? 10 X lets say $40 = $400

2 games at $40 is $80 so $400 - $80 = $320 dollar loss?? even game systems how much credit do you get for a gamecube $25? or PS2 Xbox dont tell me thats no loss ?

yeah wow you lose millions in trade ins... besides anyone with sense knows that they are complete ripoffs and the best thing to do is get your moneis back before the warranty if you aren't satisfied with your purchase.

This is more rediculous than the "PS3 is actually CHEAPER than the 360" threads that died out about a year ago

Good Riddance and please dont bring them back.

a) You buy game for $60

b) You buy a second game for $60

= you pay $120

1) You buy a game for $60

2) You trade first game in for a second game, only paying $30.

= You pay $90

How on earth does it cost you more money to trade games in? Isn't the whole idea that it's a money saving scheme?

If you dont want those games any more you're not losing anything. That's the whole point of trade ins. Rather than pay full price for a new game, trade in the ones you dont want, and save money. Sheesh.

The car analogy doesn't work, because in this case, the Honda gets to drive on some of the coolest roads that the Mercedes doesn't. In the case of gaming, to continue the metaphor properly, no-one really gives a rat's arse about what car you're driving other than the hardcore fanboys - it's the roads that are important.

PC hardware is more expensive (though not the thousands of dollars fanboys exaggerate it to) than console hardware.

Console software is more expensive than PC software.

Thread finished.

Well its not $35 down the drain. You basically paid $35 dollars for whatever game it was you bought, played and hopefully enjoyed.

First, its valid to add the HDTV with the price of a console as you need something to play the console on, no? Lets use a $500 32" 720p HDTV. Add that to the $200, $300, $400 console purchase. And if you really want to nit-pick, add a $100 - $200 more for accesseries (controllers, bull crap extra stuff for 360) And you're looking at $1000 easy right there. Thats a very decent (not high-end or extreme) PC right there. And thats even adding a 22" monitor. So whats more expensive? Its a toss-up. Could go either way.

Second, if you buy games and return them, you're a retard in my book. What fool buys a game just to find out you dont like it? Never happened to me. At my games' original prices, I have easily a thousand or two dollars worth. Never once was I dissappointed in a purchase.

PCgaming can be cheaper, it all depends on how much games you buy and where you live.

For most serious gamers in Europe for example PCgaming is less expensive than console gaming

Might as well add the house where you play the console and the stand where the TV is placed

Besides the fact that there are specialized retailers all around the US (and the world) that actually allow you to resell PC games. The big one in TN is McKay's Used Book Store, which carries all kinds of greatness.

Yes you are allowed to trade in PC games. AND console games cost more so over the time if you buy around 10 games a year (for 4 years) you will have saved 800-1000$ by buying the PC version which is cheaper . That will grant you almost a free uppgrade every 4 years vs consoles

I've easily spent more on only one of my consoles than I have my PC of almost 3 years, which thanks to Blizzard, will last me atleast another 2 years.

There is no proof here and what you stated does not make sense. Trade ins and reusing parts does not lessen the cost of PC gaming. (I only have a Wii and a gaming PC btw). y.

you'll start seeing them as soon as you see a price cut from either console.
