Its 2005 a person without owning a PC bought a launch Xbox360.....

This person went out to buy games....and bought IN STORE (like 90% of console gamers) 5 games in the year of our lord 2006....

At the nice price of 70 (SEVENTY) euros per game....PLUS 1 year of live at 50 (FIFTY) euros....

THREE HUNDRED FIFTY EUROS PLUS 400 THE BILL AT 750 EUROS

The years went by and the annual 350 euroes built a pile of 1750 EUROS

WARNING:

THE PRICE OF THE HDTV WAS NOT TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT...

Oh you mean PC games are all absolutely free? My PC cost about £700 to build and can run almost any game games but i need more RAM now as the times have shown i can't play many of the latest games that well... infact consoles versions probably look better than my PC at the latest games so 4Gb of decent RAM is about £80-100 these days... Graphics is weak too i might as well pick one of them up when im in a store that could cost anywhere from £120-350 depending on my needs, lets say a nice £200 to ensure it plays games in 4 years "reasonably" well... I guess the costs are mounting....

This is why you should import from the UK. Prices are vastly better. Most games are like 30 bucks.

1) When did you buy your PC? 2) How many GB of RAM do you currently have? 3) Your GFX card? 4) If you have an extra RAM slot, you wouldn't need to buy 4GB of RAM. Are you saying the graphics are weak because it looks worse then 360/PS3 games or because it doesn't look as good as some of the higher end PCs? Also OP, why do you always do these threads?

Rule of thumb: Console gamers are ALWAYS being ripped off in the EU.

I dont have anything against consoles per definition, but the pricing and support of the Consoles in the EU really makes one consider if it is worth it.

i have a 4670 which should be better then most console games but to be honest because it doesn't run at the native screen res and can get kind of choppy under stress, normally i find it better to not bother and just get a 360 game.

There's also something called using the internet to find online stores with better pricing. You're welcome.

This is where the PS3 can have an advantage. Thanks to absense of Region Lock for the games, gamers can import from other countries where they can get better deals, and still be able to play them on their own console without modding it.

But PS3 launched in 2007 at the price of 660 euros....One could build a stronger PC at that time for the same money....

All savvy European gamers buy their games from the United Kingdom where they are significantly cheaper. Being in the European Union does have its advantages.

PC gaming isn't about matching consoles, 720p on PC is lame. 1080p at least.

The European Union is the largest contributor of foreign aid in the world. Rather than keep the money, we oh so generously send it abroad.

Exactly. With the pound being so low against the euro, informed gamers joyfully buy from the United Kingdom. I hope native retailers are hit by the competition.

Yeah the prices here are ridiculous for console games. Bying from UK you get a bit more reasonable prices, though buying PC games from UK is even cheaper.

In the UK where i am from and used to live the price of a PC was more than made up for with insanely cheap retail boxed games. Most selling for around 20-30 gbp. Console games could easily be 45-60 gbp. ( new releases ofc).

Here in Australia where i currently live PC games (retail) are usually only around $10 cheaper and as you cant buy pre owned they are not as attractive for 6 month old games. Deopends were you live.

All i can say is Thank goodness for Steam. Usually find the latest games much cheaper than the Australian Retail. ( not always but mostly).

I buy from either amazon or game.co.uk

Amazon charges approximately 5£ for delivery and I don't even bother with Game. Too expensive. Try TheHut, Zavvi, MyMemory, DVD, or some other ones. You should also check out GamesTracker because it's a great price comparison website.

My point is that while Ive bought PES2010 online for €20 my in store-shopping-PCless friend bought it for his PS3 at €59.99 same date....
