Because there are plenty of great games on consoles you will never play on PC. I am mostly a PC gamer, but graphics aren't everything, I been playing starcraft recently again and its still a great game, graphics aren't a reason.DiviniuzI'm not just talking about about graphics. I'll let the the PC (Highest amount of AAAe's) do the talking.

Meh.. The only PC game that worth a look is any Heroes of might and magic from 3DO
[QUOTE="treedoor"]...yet you still made an account on Gamespot, post 789 times in its forums, and on top of that you even respond to such arguments. Oh the ironyMeh, I own consoles and a gaming PC, and I really couldn't care less about these stupid elitist arguments.
Hanass
You totally pwned me
The consoles get the good games, and fun with friends too. While PCs have their games, its mostly shooters, strategy, and mmos. its worth it, but id be missing too many great games without my ps3.NYrockinlegendI agree. I do not hate consoles, I'm just wondering what makes much different from a watered down PC.

They are not x86, they are derived from powerpcs, 360 is atleast, and the ps3 well is a cell which was based on the powerpc.
PC's are expensive consoles.Next-Gen-TecEpic fail. Can a console be upgraded? Can you make software on a console? Do console have a Windows or Linux based OS. The list goes on... Also Gaming PC's are built for $600-700 and they are WAY stronger than your consoles. Expensive my a**.
You people forget that a pc isn't just meant for gaming, hell I'm compiling a random SVN release, then again most of you don't do anything special so a console is a pc to you.
You people forget that a pc isn't just meant for gaming, hell I'm compiling a random SVN release...JigglyWiggly_Yeah, but gaming PC's usually perform very good in non gaming oriented task as well.

Consolites tell me what differientiates consoles from PC, I mean atleast last gen they were a bit different.Batttlefield3It costs less than half of the price of a decent PC, I don't have to bother with the abomination that's called Windows, I can lean back and play on my huge TV without carrying my PC into the living room, I can play with and against friends sitting next to me (you know real ones in person, not online friends) and of course the many games that will never see the light on PC. But it's okay if you feel insecure. Some people just can't accept the fact that tastes differ and have to tell themselves that they are the best over and over again. You sir are the gaming elite.

I agree with you on the split screen part. More PC games need split screen.

How much did your big TV cost?

You know Futbol is supposed to be the most popular sport in the world, yet my favorite thing about watching it is I hardly do. I prefer hockey, I know most people prefer the more popular option, but I don't. Mine is good enough for me.
The Wii is not a cheap watered down PC, it's a cheap (yet overpriced) watered down console.DeathtransitIt's an overclocked gamecube lol, that is being charged for outrageous prices, I mean the same emulator Dolphin emulates the gamecube and wii, because the wii is soooo similar. If we compare that to an xbox, which had a p3 with a stripped down cache, then it's worth nada.

dude, i'm not taking a side in this, but PCs aren't cheap and people aren't buying. Actual desktop PC sales decreased 23% last year, thats horrible. More people are buying Netbooks, Cheap Laptops than Desktops, which usually excel at games. Esspcecially if OnLive takes off, expect Netbook sales to go through the roof more so. I read some where Netbook sales are going to hit 35 million this year. 35 million Netbooks.
Laptops and Netbooks are selling much more than PCs, PCs can be nice gaming macines for $700-$800 yes, but the general consumer isn't interested in that at all. They are expensive. In this economic downturn they are, esspecially when i know people who can't afford to fil up their tank anymore a PC is too much. Not saying a console isn't either. My brother has had every Playstation every, and for some reason is only interested in a PS3 (big GT fan) even though i tell him he'd be happy with a 360 for half the price, but he keeps waiting on PS3 to be in the $200 territory, and i don't think it ever will be honestly. He still doesn't have one. I let him borrow my PS3. General consumers need something more to sell them on something expensive. the Marginal utility for traditional gaming consoles with simply better graphics and big gaming PCs is dropping, why else would 360 and PS3 sales be so, meh?
Wii excels sales wise coz its something new, its convincing the consumer all over again. It isn't selling off the traditional games consoles pitchs, not selling for graphics, or tech, or multimedia features, just for its cool new way to play games like Wii sports.
HD consoles and PCs need to introduce something new to increase sales, something that increases how much people are willing to pay for a item.
Consoles are cheap, watered down PCs I can afford. And I don't really care about graphics, to be honest.
and they ALL could be released on PC ps3 games that is, Don't make out that the ps3 is some sort of amazing beyond any thing system or peice of hardware its games could be easily done on the PC better, faster and stronger. There is a number of PS3 games that will never be on a PC but the 360 games could all be released on the PC.

What are you rambling on about. Maybe he's referring to a lot of 360 top tier games have went to PC and how easy it is to port from 360 to PC.There is a number of PS3 games that will never be on a PC but the 360 games could all be released on the PC.

I wouldn't say that, the pc and 360 are very different. One is a powerpc and the other is x86, but it is nothing new like the Cell, because macs used powerpcs. There is a number of PS3 games that will never be on a PC but the 360 games could all be released on the PC.

Yeah I've always asked myself why consolites think that 46 inch 1080p HDTV's are free... Seems to me that when you add the price of the TV/monitor to both costs, PC's end up being way cheaper.
