I don't understand the 'Consoles are holding back PC' argument, PC devs aren't influenced by Consoles, if you actually bought games and didn't pirate them you guys wouldn't keep getting discarded like a used condom.

Ironically, it's PC gamers who are holding back PC gaming... if developers and publishers were more confident that they would get paid for their work, more PC exclusive titles that truly demonstrated the gap between PC and console would be in development... piracy is the biggest detriment to PC gaming -- not consoles...67gt500

Graphically yes, but thats just because the hardware has obviously gotten better from five years ago. Software itself though its buggy due to the lack of optimization.

You guys are being stupid. First of all, the PC does get quite a few exclusives. The reason most big budget games don't push the PC to its limits is because such games cost so much to make that developers must release them on as many platforms as possible to recoup development costs. Even if all piracy on PC went away this would still be the case.

The ONLY reason the consoles get exclusives that push the respective hardware is because they are funded by the platform holders. The PC platform is owned by nobody.

Nope, theres loads of money in PC. Crysis 1 on pc sold over 3 million more than crysis 2 combined on all platforms.

Actually F2P games are some of the titles that push PC hardware the most

Im bored... The pc market is larger then all consoles combined... and that is when the console market include dlc and other things in their chart while pc one dont. In before someone say "casual games!" Yet consoles include these also. Anyway i guess one could spin it in a interesting way...

The PC markets is many times larger then the console one that include both people playing and the number of games... If pc have 10 times the number of games being released each year then consoles that mean that there are more things to spend money on ;). Throw in MMO's and MT and so on and you guessed it... The market is harsher...

Sure consoles have a few good sellers but thats for 2 reasons. They dont have any games so when a game is released they have to buy it :( and they need to sell millions of copies because they need to spend 40-100 million $ to get console players to buy it ;) Yes im bored thats why im posting in a troll topic.

Without that kind of money the developers obv wouldn't have been able to have anywhere near the same level of detail, or amount of content. Pc digital distribution, has made the profit ratio lopsided for multiplat games. For example it would take 3+ million retail copies to match the profit made from 500,000-750,000 digital copies.

For games that you mentioned that consoles actually made more of the bulk of money....
GTA both sold like crazy... lets not forget that GTA games were Pc orienated all the way into SA.

Assassins creed sure its made more money on consoles.

Batman Arkham... no (both games sold like crazy on DD)
Elder Srcolls um... no (set new steam records) this game alone rose sales on Steam 57% in the time frame.
Mass effect both sold like crazy

The fact that you get more then a 70% pure profit ratio from each digital copy sold. Console games especially retail do not make up 90% of the money made on multiplat based games unless its a console only game. EA and Activision for example make the bulk of their profits on multiplats from Pc gaming not on consoles. For example Activision gets over 60% of their profits come from pc gaming market.
