Consoles will never be mainstream entertainment

This is where microsoft is wrong.  I'm playing hte last of us.  This is about as good as it gets as far as videogames but I still can't see this being a mainstream thing.  I can watch tv for hours though.  But videogames are not a mainstream device.

What about the Wii from 2006-2010?

Consoles are certainly niche. A few million here and there...

This is a wind up, right? Video games are so mainstream now. I know more young adults IRL who never turn their TV on, but play video games. 

EDIT: Interpret turning their TV on as, using their TV for watching broadcast television.
