It's just incredibly assuming to watch Microsoft sink lower and lower. I have my shades on and everything, just waiting for them to crash.

It's hardly a big deal....This is making a mountain out of an ...ant? or something. Also, why are you so keen on seeing them 'crash'? In fact, this thread is hilarious.[QUOTE="VauxhalI"][QUOTE="Ravensmash"] And? What's the problem/point?Ravensmash

avatar XBLA games are hardly new.
there ahve already been a bunch, hell I can use my avatar to play snoopy flying ace if I wanted to.

You can also use your Mii to play WiiSports. Hm, weird conicidence.
not really.
Exactly.
Everyone rages at sony for creating a wii clone yet no one cares about miis coping miis
Respawn-d
you sure?
because I see avatars getting called a clone all the time. because it's true.
but it's also a really trivial matter, and we're making mountains out of anthills over it.

Who's making a mountain out of it? Just because it's being discussed doesn't mean it's a "mountain" level discussion.
It's simply just another thing that MS has done that pretty much mimics the Wii. People like talking about those sort of things, it's funny to laugh at failures.
Yes, because insignificant avatars = a lack of knowledge of the gaming market. Avatars have been around for years. You're right
MS really just doesnt get it. They think by copying Nintendo mid-gen theyll have similar success
I dont think ive ever seen a company misunderstand a market as much as MS has with the gaming market right now.

You're missing the point. The Wii has implemented their player avatarts into their games ever since the Wii was released, Microsoft has done no such thing: this is new for microsoft. We all realize that Microsoft has had avatars for a few years now, that's a mute point.
Why don't you look up some of the release titles for the Kinect and then come back to me on "what else have they copied?"
You'll find that for every Wii shovelware, there will be a Kinect Shovelware game as well that's pretty much indentical: just with better graphics and a title different title (WiiSports turns into KinectSports).

they have incorporated them into games. so it isn't new. Dead-Memories already said this above.
that doesn't detract that Miis were around first.
and why was this not a problem at avatar launch when games like kingdom for keflings and the like were playable with avatars?
simple because people were too ignorant to even know you could use avatars in games and gripe about which (and please correct me if i'm wrong on this) takes a very special kind of ignorance.
the kind where you cannont even bother to have even the most elementary grasp on the subject matter from which to ridicule it.
tsk, tsk, tsk...

Oh, then they were copying Nintendo even before all of this nonsense. Good to know. What's your point? :?
Can you blame me, though. I usually try to stay away from shovelware.
tere is a difference. nintendo mii and 360 avatars look alot alike. sony went for a more realistic look. also how they are used. MS is using their avatars almostg just like nintendo uses theirs. sony uses their avatars only in theHome social networking space.Everyone rages at sony for creating a wii clone yet no one cares about avatars coping miis

why are you asking me that question? seems like you're consulting the wrong person.
you not knowing because the games you don't know about are supposedly shovelware? great.
from the list I'm looking at. I wouldn't consider Dirt 2, Snoopy Flying Aces, Band Hero,or really any of these games outside of Joyride to be shovelware.

Lol, and that's why shovelware sells: because of people like you.
