Could 360 be the first 3 year console?

With the 3 year warranty (which only covers rrod) up for renewal this year for some launch buyers, could 360 be the first 3 year console?

EDIT:

IF MS extended the rrod warranty again, that is good for owners but isn't it also like admitting that 3yr wasn't enough and that they did not manage to fix it yet?

I wish, I went through 3 PS2s in 6 years so a three year console would be a step up if it's not a nintendo product.

As long as they continue to support the platform with game releases then it will last well past three years.

The DRE's didn't seem to stop the PS2, and that was not even under warranty.

That's not what he said.

Then I misunderstood what he was saying. What does he meen by 3 year console? Is it that the console would last 3 years before dying because of the waranty? That makes no sense, it's like saying the other consoels are 1 year consoles cause they only have 1 year waranties.

Oh crap, that means my PS3 will be the first 1 year console. since thats how long the warrenty last :|
