Could a computer ever even match the Xbox in terms of price/performance and convenience?

I know this topic has been done to death but could anyone even dare to dream of a machine that can do more than the Xbox One X for less.

I actually don't think a computer can match a game console in terms of value and performance. This goes for any console compared to a gaming PC.

I paid a lot for a decent PC...and it still can't play most games that well. PC games are clunky and tedious asf.

You shouldn't have to have to upgrade your game system for each and every damn game. They should all just work on it. And that only happens on a game console where the lines are drawn in the sand and the games all have to be within system specs.

It is just so fitting for so many situations like this one. :)

PC pricing comes close, but manufacturer's component prices will always trump consumer pricing. They order in massive bulk, and probably sign contracts for years of manufacturing.

That being said, as much as I love playing on consoles as well, my money goes to PC for any multiplats.

The thing is, history shows that people don't want multimedia/computer based consoles. Traditional consoles and traditional handhelds have always sold more cause they fit a wider audience.

I think Xbox is fine, and the X a miracle, but no one is losing sleep over X's performance over their computer or PS4.

I'm not lame, so if a game looks better on X, I'll play it on it, simple as that. Clearly people understand that being so satisfied by PC and PS4, everything Xbox does is bonus on top.

You get what you pay for. X1X is shit and any similarly priced PC is most likely going to be shit too. If you want quality, need to dish out the dough.

I wouldn't know, the only games I play with my $30,000 PC are retro-styled indie games and RPG's with hand-drawn visuals.

Why is it always the PC having to adjust to consoles? Why not the other way around? What would it take for console gamers to match the capabilities of a PC?

Not sure what you did, but I can run Battlefield 5 on my crazy old i5 3570k, 16gb ram, and GTX 760. It runs on low DX12 at 60+ fps. So if you are having trouble running games, I'm not even sure what kind of build you're running, cause that build is basically from 2012.
