They have a LOT to do in order for the series to redeem itself in my eyes after the half-baked mess that was KOTOR II.

And coming out with an MMO isn't one of those things.

Yeah, chances were pretty much shot from the very beginning. Come ON Bioware...THINK.

If done RIGHT, it could be really good. Note, I emphasize "right". I am going to remain hopeful. I admit, I am a bit nervous when I hear MMO tossed around too, especially when it reminds me of Star Wars: Galaxies. /shivers But, I have alot of faith in Bioware, so maybe they wont let us down.

If they did an MMO you'd lose everything that made KOTOR...well KOTOR. I'd just be another galaxies rip. You wouldn't have the object permenance and the dialogue tree, the combat wouldn't be the same, the amazing story would be gone...

I love KOTOR, but I'm not prepared to pay a monthly fee for a simplified game with an emphasis on grind over plot. No no no no no no

Oh, the story could still be there. It'd just be reduced to a bunch of item-driven quests, and it will forever remain unresolved, that's all.

Yeah, agreed. I'm not too sure about this one. It could end up being great, but the chances of it being a true KOTOR sequel are slim at best.

What was wrong with 2? I saw no major flaws.

But yeah, this is a great move towards killing the goodness that was KotoR.

Where to start...

1) The annoying emphasis on neutrality

2) The classic good and evil conflict was nowhere to be found, with Darth Nihilus being the only real 'bad' guy

3) An abundance of plot holes and loose ends that are NEVER resolved

Fingers crossed this is about a different LucasArts property. Although unlikely, it COULD be something like Indiana Jones.

That was not Obsidians fault, Lucas Arts made them release it before it was completely finished. Good game still, but would have been better if it wasn't for Lucas Arts forcing them to release it.

Even if it is KOTOR, it won't be KOTOR 3. It will be KOTOR MMO. MMO's will play differently than the first two games. Those that loved the first two but don't like MMO's will now abandon the series (if they didn't abandon it with the half released KOTOR 2). Those that love MMO's but not the original 2 games will be hard to sign up. Taking a series and trying to push it to a smaller niche is worse than Galaxy... It might be big initially, but in under two years it will disappear.

Darth Nihilus ended up being such a wuss. I killed him so easily and I expected him to the big boss, but noooo. Hell, I didn't even get to wear his mask!

Possibly. Galaxies had sooooo much potential and they completely blew it. I played it at launch, and played it for almost a year, and gave up. So many gripes, so many flaws. I mean, no ambient music while you are running across Tatooine? Everywhere you GO in EverQuest there was at least ambient music! And thats just a MINOR gripe. But, there is potential in KOTOR, as well, but no way to tell until we find out more. :(
