Could Quantum Break have made a good horror game?

There's a later section of the game where you encounter a being that exists outside of time and he kills a lot of people in Monarch, he's a doctor that was turned into whatever this is due to failures in time travel experiments.

This section gives me a serious F.E.A.R. level vibe that I really like and wish was played on much more in the game, just from seeing this, hearing the sounds, the overall atmosphere and so on, do you think there's good groundwork here for a game like that?

Also I didn't see anything that's scary about it. This game wouldn't fit the horror from what I play and seen, QB is full of suspense, that's the part I love, suspense, not horror, there's a big difference between horror and suspense. So no, QB couldn't make into a horror, the suspense is were it's at.

But it is. For those who are actually playing it of course. I'm actually having fun, it's not really ground breaking nor anything like that, it's just an okay game.

I'm about halfway through and I have to say gamespot really messed up this review. How this game could get anything lower then an 8 is mind boggling, the story alone I better then most games out there. Its like Alan Wake with Time powers.

No, given that the time powers are more power fantasy driven than anything else. And while Remedy can nail atmosphere, they have a poor sense of pace and tension. That and Alan awake and its expansion highlight how poor they would be at horror games.

Considering this is what qualifies as a reload animation in this game, I'll say it already is a horror game.

In a word, no. There is way too heavy of a sci-fi vibe for this game to be ever have been considered horror. Horror elements, perhaps, but even that is a stretch.

@dynamitecop: That wasn't Dr Kim, that was Hatch. He is a shifter who appears to be able to control his form. Did you read the letter on the desk outside of Serenes office? He had found a natural occurrence of time travel before 1999. If anything I would probably guess that he is even more powerful than Serene was, and those eye drops are what helps him stay synced in time.

I think they could do a side story to this game where you play as Serene at the end of time that would come pretty close to it. Say 3-5 hours in length and the goal is to find all of the parts necessary to make Wills time machine work while avoiding the shifters, maybe improve the cover mechanic and make it a stealth game.

It's a pretty looking game, in screen shots and stuff, but for a triple A production it's a bit inconsistent on the technical end. The animations being a mix of well done, to just why the **** is that not even here?

He is speeding up time. You can't see it in normal time. :P

No, I do not believe so,the part in his note about finding the natural occurrence of time travel in a cave, it means he could travel back before 1999. In theory, he could position himself to be the 1st in line to invest in Serene's new company, maybe even influence it's creation from the very beginning. Martin Hatch was in control the whole time, and Serene was the biggest pawn on the board.

The better is whether it could have been a good game?
