Yeah, I'm going to be making another thread on this subject.
As we know, Nintendo is the only first party to RARELY publish any games with the M ESRB rating (or any adult oriented rating depending on where you are in the world, like PEGI 16-18+ in Europe), unlike Microsoft (Halo, Gears of War) and Sony (God of War, The Getaway, Twisted Metal Black and the recent installment on PS3) and have had mostly successful runs with them, unlike Nintendo.
In the past, I have made a thread (don't bump, we don't want anyone getting moderated here) saying that I think Nintendo has legit reasons on not having their own M rated games with one N64 game (Rare's Perfect Dark) being a success, but two GameCube games (Silicon Knights' Eternal Darkness and n-space's Geist) being commercial failures, and that thread was made before Resident Evil: Revelations (which Nintendo of Europe did publish, Capcom published in NA and Japan) released, and to my understanding, that failed in the west (NA and Europe) too.
Now the next game for Nintendo to publish with this sort of audience is Tecmo-Koei's Ninja Gaiden III: Razor's Edge for the Wii U. Another version based off the widely panned Ninja Gaiden III for PS3 and 360.
And because it was widely panned with reception from both critics and gamers, bad sales, and Nintendo's rotten luck, do you think this may be their final chance with the overall "Mature" market and whatever "Mature" games being all handled by third parties in both development and publishing?
My thoughts: I personally think it might be because after Nintendo's past three not doing so hot and Ninja Gaiden III's sour reception may not be any help. Nintendo is one of those companies where history really haunts them.
(Besides, I see Ninja Gaiden III on Wii U getting True Crime: New York City styIe of reception when it was released on PC after the console versions)
