Cow brothers, are you still subbed to PS+ since the price hike?

I let my sub lapse after the price increase. I was tempted when Extra was $79.99, but decided against it since I have so many games in my backlog to play. If it is ever $79.99 again and I get through some games, I may resub, but I'm really good without it at the moment.

I haven't been subbed to it for a while before the price hike. Console makers should remove the subscription requirement to play games online.

I don't use these much, I had vouchers for Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Online and PS Plus and haven't used them. Maybe they're expired by now.

For the rest of this year, after that not sure.

Yes but because I had 3 years built up. I'll decide next year if I want to keep it when it runs out. I find, that I just prefer to buy the games I want to play rather than depend on a subscription service that might remove that game at any time.

I believe I have PSN+ Premium for another year. I stacked two (?) years when they announced it.

That being said, I'll more than likely downgrade to Extra next time around.

I paid 20 for a year of Premium once and I felt that was pushing it.

I got my moneys worth out of it by playing Knack and Stray but never subbing again.

I was a sub to psn+ from 2011 till just after they announced the price hike and different tiers. Writing was on the wall that this was a scam, no different than everyone else making you pay to play.

Steam is so far ahead of console gaming in this respect... Makes you wonder why people would ever sub? I know for me I was able to build a big library of free rentals, but that wasn't enough to keep me being milked that hard.

Nope. Only paid for plus when a promotion on a year of PS+ essential was 30€ and another promotion of a Month was 1€. I refuse to pay more than that

Sony should offer a fourth tier when you only pay for online gaming and cloud saving, no "free" games, for much MUCH cheaper or just get rid of essential completely and offer that option instead. And even that is pushing cause paid online play should have NEVER been a thing. Thats part of the reason why gamers are jumping to PC and lefting consoles behind

I resubbed for a year of Essential before the increase. Not sure yet if I’ll do it again at the current price though.

I cancelled mine 3 or 4 years ago. No big loss.

For sure. I get a ton of value out of it. My sub is up in December. They'd have to do a pretty substantial price hike for me to walk.

I've done this since like launch of ps4 but now I'm letting it expire, price increases + sony stopped retailers/other websites from selling codes so the prices have gone mega up. Never paid more than 40€ at most for a year and now they want something like 80€ or more, yeah no thanks

Based on the poll I understand why Sony was trying to force PSN sign-ups for Helldivers 2 to boost their engagement numbers. 😏

I never really subscribed to it outside of a couple of trials in the first place.

I have Essential. I own most of what I want to play so extra is not worth it for me.

I could get Extra for $31. What I do is buy regular online basic, then wait 100 or more days and extra costs $31 and premium costs $61.

Interesting timing for this topic as my PS Plus Essential just expired yesterday. I don't want to pay the new price and I have not seen any cheap keys online like there used to be before the price hike. I guess I will just have to wait it out for a discount at some point. They can go fuk themselves with the scam pricing.

I think I last renewed before the price increase, but I still plan on renewing again before my subscription expires (hopefully get it discounted before then).

I only have the essentials tier but since I have been subscribed since the PS3 days about half of my 700+ game library is tied to the PS+ membership.

Yes, but it is kinda tricky, the conversion rate for dollars, made it almost the same i paid last year.

I subscribed to Plus back in 2012 through 2022. What's interesting is I never paid $60 as I would always get Plus through third party sites for $32 and stack them. Don't really miss it much as I never really played the Plus games or online. Plus looking at $80 for a year of Essential, I wouldn't get any value out of it. I have like 100 of PS4 games to keep me busy for years.

I jumped to PC this year, finally leaving consoles behind. I had a ton of reasons why I wanted to switch to PC, but the price increase was just another nail in the already closed coffin.

If that were true, we wouldn't be talking on a forum such as this one 🤷‍♂️

I agree some people haven't accepted that manticore is nothing but a name. Gamers can play on all platforms, however gamers still have a preference on which one they play the most, just like you and I do.

Same, I had it for the PC to play PS Now (can't remember what the new name for that is).

But the increase is too drastic for my use. I can't pay for premium just to use it for cloud gaming.

I used to be able to get a yearly sub for around £45, now I think it's around 2 or 3 times that, I think.
