Hmm, this is weird, i could've sworn that Jack Treton said they were considering a price drop.And this guy is saying there is no price drop in the pipeline.Its very interesting to see him denying this while many retailers are announcing 100$ price drops on Ps3.Confusing!

Sony should really get their facts straight.

Hmm, this is weird, i could've sworn that Jack Treton said they were considering a price drop.And this guy is saying there is no price drop in the pipeline.Its very interesting to see him denying this while many retailers are announcing 100$ price drops on Ps3.Confusing!

Sony should really get their facts straight.

Sony don't neet to drop the RRP for retailers to drop their price .... if there is excess stock and consumers aren't willing to buy it at that price, the product price will fall at the cost of the retailer no the manufacturer ...

Go back to Kotaku - there is a confirmation update - they apparently got a confirmation from another retailer's merchandising manager... I'll go into work today and ask my bosses too. (I know the CDN price is back down to 659 at least).

Who knows, maybe when they say "at present" they mean like... today.

I haven't seen that in the US in roughly forever. These are playstation3's, not old bread...

PS3's don't go out of date or anything, what retailers would do is sit on what they have and not order any more til they sell thru current stock.
