COWs Besides the name what made you buy a PS3?

Ok COWs please explain to me what made you buy a PS3 besides the name Playstation?

I understand you want to play Final Fantasy and Metal Gear, but those games don't come out for a while.

Why spend the U$600.00 now when you could have waited a bit?

Did you get sucked in the Hype? Because from November till today the PS3 has been mostly hype.

the BC is a Huge reason whyI bought the ps3... and I don't regret it since the 1.80 update (upscale)

most of my favorite games are coming

a HD movie player...

also, I would like to mess around with the Home service.

I'm pretty sure I have more reason why, but if you can afford a ps3 around the holiday season you should definitely pick one up.

my Ninja Gaiden Sigma just came today, and I'm loving it. even though I've played Ninja Gaiden Black, this is a lot better than it. imo, Ninja Gaiden Sigma is better than all next gen games released. this is just my opinion. I LOVE these type of games, Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry etc.

there is nothing on X360 and Wii out now that I want.

to all PS3 owners, make sure you get Ninja Gaiden Sigma, it is a must-buy title. and I'm sure lot of PS owners have not played Ninja Gaiden.

Most of my friends have the ps3 Blueray, my 360 died and Resistance fall of man

Less reports of breakage, Free online, and BC since I never owned a ps2.

Oh and the good graphics, br thingy helps a bit too. I don't even have a ps3 and I am planning on getting it when Singstar, Warhawk, and MGS is out.

360- you have to paid to play online, must-have warranty.

Wii - no games right now so I will wait. My bros say it is a great party console and not as fun when playing solo.

Socom is my favorite game and Ps1 and Ps2 are my fav systems

Sony knows what a player wants and they dont need 1 game to sell their console

I chose the PS3 because the games will utilize the bluray and the standard HDD (deny bluray if you want, but you can't say the HDD is not a huge gamingadvantage)

I didn't have to spend extra money for add ons. Built-in wi-fi is awesome.

The PS3 has a better record for reliabilty. I still think the 360 is a sloppily built console IMO. The PS3 is nice and quiet.

The normal controllers are wireless. The online is free, money-wise and lag-wise.

The 4 USB ports and memory stick slots give it way more versitility.

Last but not least, Sony backs their systems for at least 6 years. Look at what they could produce on the puny PS2in the latter half of its life: MGS3 and GOW2 show off just how great the games could look on the system with such commitment. Similarly, if the PS3 lives through this gen (it's going rough and will continue to be rough. I won't deny that) Sony is going to squeeze every last bit of power out of the system. I know I'm not going to be forced to upgrade after just 4.5 years.

Well the first reason I have a PS3 is MS yes I'll say that again MS. Why you might ask?, well see I was one of those poor suckers that had an xbox and what did MS do for me it's loyal costumer? The just dropped me thats right no more games..

Well then the 360 gets release and I start to think well maybe I should upgrade and get it..Well you can guess what happens next yes you know what I'm going to say, The Dreaded 3 rings..Stories start to appear more and more and I think to myself, Once bitten twice shy. So No to the 360..

Now the Ps3 comes out and yes it has HDMI and I just happen to have a HDTV with HDMI so far so good.

Blu Ray yes Blu Ray you see at the time my DVD player took a dive and I need a new player but I started thinkin humm Blu Ray..

PS2 Well you see there was this huge library of games still available and more still coming out. You see Sony didn't abandon their costumers like MS did. Half of the games I can pick up used for like 10 bucks GOW RE4 ect see I'm not waiting for games I have them..

Free online, see I was more of a hermit and have never payed for online, why should I start now.

Finally MS release a new SKU and they add HDMI you know the one they said you didn't need a just a short while ago..They don't add the HD dvd player Nor Wifi and to boot they didn't put in the 65 chip that might have helped with the 3 rings..

So I bought the Ps3 and have never regretted my choice..

I don't have a ps3 but what got me hyped about it was mainly Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy Vs. 13, Eye of Judgement looked interesting and Warhawk and Lair look like alot of fun. Also resistance got me hyped up as well. These are just my reasons for wantinga ps3 and I believe I will get it probably within the next 3-6 months maybe more I always wanted one and didn't really want a 36, I have one yes and I do enjoy it sometimes but i've always wanted the ps3.

Well, I wanted something new, and I knew I'd need a PS3 eventually. So it was either buy PS3 now and get it over with, or buy one of the other two, but still have to buy a PS3 when MGS4 came out.

Also, I really needed a FPS that wasn't Halo 2, and Resistance fit the bill.

First off I'm not a Cow. I bought it knowing that in the future it will most likely bring the most quality and varied games. It's a long term investment.

Great Additions: Linux Yellow Dog (installed it last week), Blu-Ray movies, Amazing upscaling and backwards copatibility, easy HDD acces via USB for pics and music, and WiFi (I game downstairs from the router so that's perfect).

I didn't care about the price at all. It's worth what you pay definitely. As for now I'm still having fun with Resistance Online and Motorstorm and I'm playing Oblivion again (even though I beat it on 360) until the heavy hitters release.

Any GAMER with the money to comfortably invest into all systems should do so. I'm glad I dont get to miss out on anything
