Of course not the first. I remember Atari commercials showing families playing together (goes to show companies were aiming at children/elderly long before the Wii). Nintendo is just the most recent to focus on it because just showing pictures of the games gives bad impression, you need to see how "fun" the wiimote is, so they have to hire lots of pretty people to swing it around with a bright vibrant smile as if someone just dumped a bag full of money on the TV.

If you look at the 5th and 6th picture of the initial post(all the pics), you notice that the image on the TV screen is the same on both.

PS: yes, i did notice that multiple people were playing a single player game(if they were even playing, no they weren't).
