Not surprising, knew it would bomb in reviews, and after playing some of it, I have to agree with some of the downsides. But that said I am loving the game.
 Some cows were actually hyping this 2009... Wii's dominating it.screechmario
Not alot, and not all cows...
I really doubt the same will happen here.I think IGN might have a been a bit harsh on it, remember what happened God Hand? A 3.0 there and 8.0 and a GR average of like 74.

I know man... what gives? I'm buying this game JUST for that... :D I scanned through the images on ign just to find this one... for some reason most of the 100's of pics are of anime chicks in bikinis....[QUOTE="wolverine4262"]
shouldnt this give it at least a 6?

I wonder what the reason could be!

Im not sure you need a reason for anime chicks in bikinis...I actually think the game is awesome and at least deserves a 6 if not a 7. the only thing I dislike about the game is the corny dialogue but it actually gets me LoLin every once in awhile. The battle system is very technical and does have bit of a learning curve like the review says, but I don't see that as a negative thing. I'm actually excited to get further into the game, and probably will be playing it all tomorrow afternoon :>
[QUOTE="Chaos_HL21"]or lol @JRPGs, whatever.[QUOTE="loco145"]
How is it a Smash killer? (I am guessing Super Smash Bros? )
loco145
Well it is a different type of cross over game. Smash is more of the fighter type (see Capcom vs Marvel, Capcom vs SNK, Capcom vs ect). Cross Edge is more the the JRPG type of crossover
EDIT:

I would have to agree with the reviewer on the menu thing, it could of been done alot better. But it is no where near a 3.5 game. Sofar I don't mind the dialogue it is alright. (although I am comparing Cross Edge dialogue to Chaos Wars in this case, so that isn't saying much... ) (I love Chaos Wars, and kinda think it has a better battle system, but man the dialogue is so bad it is funny)
Maybe this guy was onto something...

:( Heavy Rain better be good.
Cross Edge sure isn't, though.

Cross Edge may not be a AAA game but it is still fun. Review score does not always mean the game is bad or good.

I'm playing the 2.5'd Damnation and enjoying it. Although, it has some serious issues, but I still find it fun.
HAHAHA ... I should pull up one of the threads where people listed NIS as one of the top 3 developers (as opposed to S-E).
Edit: Actually read the article. Whoever wrote the article isn't even close to a professional journalist. They seem to have added an edit just like I have to this post, as an afterthought to a rant on how complicated the game's design is. But the review seems to be at least a 5.0.
The problems listed in the article:
1. Cluttered item menus
2. Complicated battle system
3. Expensive items
4. "Too many characters" ???
Seems more like a rant and an arbitrarily low score, rather than an unplayable game. It's not something I would ever want to play but it doesn't seem to be a 3.

The same goes for Cross Edge. Although I am kinda bias because I like cross over RPGs such as this, and like some of the characters in this game (although kinda wish they would of had Hiro fromthe Spectral Froce games)

Well one thing NIS was not the only developer (and may not be the main)on this, and Square-Enix is not the best developer out there too
To be honest, I prefer some of NIS games over SE.HAHAHA ... I should pull up one of the threads where people listed NIS as one of the top 3 developers (as opposed to S-E).

Doesn't mean much since they gave Disgaea 3 a 6.7.
Honestly, I find critic reviews for JRPGs that don't have Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts in the title to be absolutely terrible. In fact, no JRPG review for a game that wasn't published or developed by Square Enix is even worth reading. They never do the game justice. The exception being Persona 3 and Persona 4, which were pleasant surprises.

I think NIS games are good fun, but none of them even compare to the recent Final Fantasy XII (which was ultimately disappointing).
I'd never touch an NIS non-SRPG though. *shudders*
Anyways, I edited my post.

The only JRPG developer that has done a truly good job post Final Fantasy X was probably monolith soft (Xenosaga), who has now been bought by nintendo (which seems to have caused the talented members of the group to split up and develop a SEGA JRPG for the DS).

Yeah, I thought they had a bigger role in it too, but I remembered its from that same dev who makes a lot of obscure Japanese SRPGs that would never have a chance of coming here, so its no real negative on NIS.The only JRPG developer that has done a truly good job post Final Fantasy X was probably monolith soft (Xenosaga), who has now been bought by nintendo (which seems to have caused the talented members of the group to split up and develop a SEGA JRPG for the DS).

I would not call NIS a JRPG developer. I don't think they ever made one (publishing doesn't count), they stick to SRPGs. The only non-SRPG I can think of is that Prinny game for the PSP, Dood (and I think it got high marks)
Atlus also made good JRPG with the Persona games.
I'm still getting it. Pretty poor review imo. He basically just complained about the graphics and that it was too deep. Guys like him are better suited to sticking with Final Fantasy RPGs only.
Bigboi500
Or not. It's better to have an accurate judge of Final Fantasy games too. Of course, that wont happen because they don't finish games before they review them.
