cry engine 2

Dont know if it was true or not but isnt crytek suppose to show off cryengine 2 on consoles at GDC

They wouldn't develope a new engine that quickly.

Oh, forgot that crysis was the second cry engine. Which is odd becuase I own far cry.

It was too poor to show, if consoles can't run Mass Effect with a stable framerate then it will run cryengine 2 mid-low, the cryengine 2 was made for powerful hardware not X1900 (360) or 7800 GTX (PS3) those were things of the past.

I think it's doable as long as they don't use the CryENGINE to make a sandbox game with insane draw distances and such.

edit: but also look at how well far ry 2 is on consoles, the devs clain it will look the same except for the resoltions and a bit of draw distance. Which i can take on a console, so what i can;t see the whole 20km i don't mind 5 lol....yeah anyways.

edit, edit, i know fra cry 2 is not on the cry engine but the dunia engine which seems impressive, mabe the cry engine is as optimized as it now.

Nothing wrong with medium however you want it in all its glory...I personally think you are in for real treat as the game progresses

On another note, does anyone else have probs running this game in crossfire oppose to single card...ati 2900's here and for some reason I get better performance with just one

Crysis is easily among my favorite shooters ever. I've played the good part (the first 2/3 of the sp) 4 times and I'm already more than halfway done with the 5th. My rig plays it on medium with about 30 fps on average.
