After watching the short trailer i did a bit of research and found out that crysis 2 was built with the same core engine visually and powered, so "frost bite" engine may have been down graded or abandoned til further notice, this raises speculation on what this game could evolve too "medal of honor" or simply "crysis 2" That is battle field 3. For all those fans out there having any game built from cry engine is simply great but i cannot help too even wonder if objective wise they'll be heading towards medal of honor approach? or maybe not. Cry *tek* back in 2009 made announcement that their engine would go global on 2011, i for one embrace this tecnology great architecture, physical elements pushed, unbelievable developing editor but i wonder as mentioned above will this be a copy of medal of honor, and will it feel like crysis2, we already purchased many titles of "EA"games but would you spend full price for both games when 1 will come up on top. they also stated if crysis 2 does not do well in sales they may abandon it and start on new projec "time splitters" So before gaming year even begins with great titles so with that introduction will battle field 3 be the clear candidate for cry tek to truelly push thier engine lorddaggeroffCan I have a link to this? As far as I know Battlefield 3 is using frostbite 2.0
Wait. I'm really confused. Battlefield is Frostbite and Crysis is CryEngine 3. Those are two entirely different engines.
Whats Cry engine 3 again? i'v always been thinking its an actual game :P

It is the game engine that is powering Crysis 2.
Cry Engine 1 powered Far Cry 1 (all platforms, simply updated)
Cry Engine 2 powered Crysis and Crysis Warhead
the guy in your avatar looks like the guy who plays as dick winters in band of brothers...just sayin. and to be on topic. where did this guy get his info? im going to use my good friend google.By core tech you mean DirectX graphic libraries...
Otherwise what you said makes no sense.

Yeah, TC makes absolutely zero sense. What he said isn't even 1% correct.
I'm sorry... But, what?

Ahh, its always entertaining to see a thread that crashes and burns this badly. :P
Seriously though, what were you thinking TC?
Does that post look like its from someone who knows about DirectX libraries... ;)By core tech you mean DirectX graphic libraries...

You may be thinking of the cancelled Emotional RPG project known at one time as "Cry On", I think.[QUOTE="NWA90s"]MoH runs on a modified UE3 engine, and this is Frostbite 2.0. No, MoH multiplayer ran on the Frostbite engine. The single player was the UE3.hmm... from the 10sec gameplay shown it looks like a updated MoH engine to me.

FUD. Crysis 2 uses CryEngine 3.0, Battlefield 3 uses Frostbite 2.0; the only coincidences are that both uses deferred lighning and global illumination radiosity, but they are different engines; just because a game uses tessellation as A vs P doesn't mean that these game uses the A4 Engine from Metro 2033...

Don't see how I did considering the SP and MP are obviously different.hmm... from the 10sec gameplay shown it looks like a updated MoH engine to me.
