avp3 is coming out on the psp, unfortunately :(

wait a minute is that new upcoming game for the 360 (the 4th set of pics) tangent (cause it looks really similar from what ii've seen, but the again any "real wanna be looking" games look alike, like that)? or is that just a crysis mod?

this is the work of khenaz. He is an experienced modder and is getting familiar with CryENGINE 2 still. Anyway, he has made two maps so far. One is the infamous Jungle map which has the fog effects and amazing look the video is here.

this is a work in progress map. Textures will be replaced, modeling will be updated. This is a very early stage in the levels development. Expect better textures to be added soon and the buildings will also get their own texture updates.

Sooo is this like a FPS version of the WC3 Map Editor? If so, I'd probably drop down 1.5k on a gaming computer right now and just make maps for it. Screw the actual game.Apathetic-Irony

I don't think you can make as varied of a game as you could with the world editor. If you are just talking just about changing the map visually, then Crysis offers you far more options though it is much more complex.

you can do everything with the editor... EVERYTHING. And it's PRETTY easy. Some of the things are complicated like Voxel's but most of it is fairly self explanatory. There are also tutorials online already. If you are experienced with modding, you can make a large map in a week, maybe two.

Some of the mods are looking crazy good. Like MechWarrior: Living Legends, Stepping Stones: Pacific Theatre, and Obsidian Edge.

edit- it is a very daunting looking editor though... So many different things...
