The weird thing is that the original crysis ran on high on my pc, but my laptop, which could run starcraft 2, stalker and team fortress2 better than my laptop could only run crysis on low and still lag.
There is no way i can get crysis 2 now. If that's the minimum, i cant play it on either cause my pc which could run crysis on high will only be able to barely scrape by. My laptop, which is better, has already proved it cant run crysis, and there is no way i am getting it for consoles.
So sad :(
Are they kidding me? I played Crysis on medium/high settings and now my rig barely cuts it? The game looks worse than the original.RK-MaraMore importantly the levels are a lot smaller.:?
It seems just a tiny bit less stringent than the system requirements of Crysis. My 5770 will still need to have no AA to play Crysis 2 with FPS at 30 or above and 1080p. It doesn't matter. ARMA2 is already forcing me to upgrade my video card anyway.

To the people complaining... These are pretty standard requirements anymore. A 4 year old graphics card and 4 year old CPU are pretty reasonable by just about all standards... There really is no reason for them to bother accomodating for anything older. Fact about PC gaming is that "Requirements" are a moving target. 4 year window is about as wide as anyone will be willing to get because when you go older than that, programming for the limitations of old hardware becomes cumbersome, difficult, and cost prohibitive...

Always something to complain about, if the specs had been lower you would all be claiming the game had been consolised into a corridor shooter... those are actually pretty easy specs to accommodate these days although it gives me an excuse maybe to finally upgrade my CPU ;).

Yes, new graphic card generations have come and gone, but the console generation has stayed the same. I can still play vast majority of games on high settings. How many games actually take full advantage of the new cards? We haven't seen anything visually revolutionary since Crysis. My PC plays older titles like Oblivion just as well as it plays Fallout New Vegas. Yes, they use the same engine but that just tells how little has happened. And sure, there PC exclusives but there's still nothing that topples Crysis. But don't worry, I will buy a new PC once the time comes, which is probably quite soon because my good ol' 8800 GTS has already died on me once.
Wow, well my GTX 570 will at least pull off High out of Very High I would hope. I guess we will see :P.

Yes, but the minumum specs are the specs the game will look terrible playing if you can get playable frame rates with any effects on at all and lowest textures etc
Minimum specs is if you are desparate to play the game no matter how it looks, becuse frankly the games have played on the minimum adviced PC look horrid

Hardly... They don't purposely make the low settings look bad. They do what they can...
Hmm, guess consoles have low or even lower settings since the minimum is a 8800GT. Hoping this means that it'll play and look good on the lowest settings, or we've been lied to and that it really is a direct console port.
Min. Settings are for people who want to play the game on the LOWEST settings possible. As stated above. I can't wait to see the Recommended Specs, I'm scared that I won't be able to max it out =(ShadowDeathX
How about this. If you don't have modern high end hardware(the LATEST top of the line card), you won't be able to Max it out. That is how PC gaming works. That is how it has always worked. This generation is freakishly dry on the technical side for PC games. But that doesn't change the fact that when a new graphical benchmark game comes out, to max it, you have to have top of the line hardware...
Do you have top of the line hardware? If No, then you won't be able to max the game.
I thought Crytek said that C2 would have lower requirements than the first? I can still run it, but it doesn't really look like much of a difference.

I can max out every other game out there with nice frames per second even Metro 2033. So Who knows...lol[QUOTE="KingsMessenger"][QUOTE="ShadowDeathX"]Min. I'll remain optimistic :)HOLY **** this thread informed me that I should see if my laptop can run Crysis. It can. On Recommended. Anyone wanna tell me what that looks like!?
Are people serious about the minimum specs!? The hardware is like 5 years old now....
mattuk69
While that may be true, I can see how people are upset. Yes, the hardware is five years old now. But so is the console tech. In fact, the min requirements create a computer more powerful than the consoles. Generally, people that build PCs (like me) figure that if they can get their PC to be more powerful than the consoles, they'd be good for the entire generation. Due to whatever reason (bad optimization in GTA 4 for example), that isn't always the case.
Granted, when one builds a PC, one should assume these issues would arise.
Was this according to Can You Run It by any chance? My laptop passes everything, full green bar, fast it says! But I can only actually run it on Medium with no AA.HOLY **** this thread informed me that I should see if my laptop can run Crysis. It can. On Recommended. Yeah, I know nothing else :). I'm just surprised I can run it. Graphically, I'm OK with it looking mediocre as long as it runs. Especially since I bought the laptop for $400 brand new.
Does medium look as good as consoles?
so I'm guessing this means we haven't seen PC footage on very high? Because these minimum specs can pull off the graphics seen in the 360 beta...
These are pretty standard requirements for most games now and will run alot of games on high with decent res and no AA as long as they haven't be ported by monkeys.
I don't have much better than the min spec, Quad core and SLI 8800GT but i'm not worried about having the game run and look better than the console versions. I won't be maxing it or anywhere close, but i'm sure it will still look amazing.
