Crysis and UT3 sales on PC is horrible but it wasn't the main reason for these company to make money. althought these games will be sellign for long time as more ppl will buy it, (even today ppl buy UT2004) and etc. but the main money comes from their Engine!!!!!

gears of war uses UT3 engine alot of games buy UT3 engine so they can make their game and even though Crytek II engine requires alot of power ppl are still buying these engines and thats where teh money comes from.

Can crysis low sales be attritubed to the fact that not many persons have a gaming rig good enough to run in properly ?

Even on medium settings Crysis still looks decent, and you can get a rig that can get Crysis on Medium for around $600-700.

I think they have to do with the fact that those sales come from about 15% of whole pcgaming market.

I don't see why UT couldn't atlest push decent numbers,if C&C3 couldsell a million on PC in a month,UT3 should atlest pull some decent numbers since a decent PC can run the game.

if people are buying the engines which are console developers why not just design the engine instead of waisting all that time and money on a game that wont sell.

crysis was the biggest thing to ever come out in the history of the world PC guys claimed and their only a fraction of the way to 100k? that is just crazy.

while there are games on consoles that sell in to the8 figures just shows where the twotypes of systems match up. and a lot of people rent console games and resell them which takes away from those numbers.

UT3 engine was build on PC/Ps3/360 and it's been bought from many developers from all 3 platforms which means they can profit more. it's not like PC only it's for all 3. also Crytek engine is being build on all 3 platform as well althought crysis is only PC the engine is still for sale on 360/PS3 and thats where these game make the real money.

Crysis will be "The first game I get as soon as I build my new rig", and it will be that kinda game for some time to come.

Meaning that I think it will sell over a million, maybe even two, just it wont be like a massive surge, such as when big console games are released.

people only posted US sales, and they dont include digital medias, 85k in 1 week only on america(where pc sales arent very strong) is pretty damn good, remember that the witcher is about to reach 2million, and that pc games sell in a long period of time instead of having a huge spike on launch and then starting to descend.
