Crysis graphics look very poor in HIGH detail.

i have two 8800gts in sli mode and i tested crysis in high detail and the graphics look very bad and yet the frame rate is just horrible, can someone explain what is going on?

is crysis one of those games that come out once a while just to crank up the gpu sales?

There are around 10 sliders in the game. Which ones are you setting to High? All of them? What resolution?

Are those the older GTS cards or the new 512MB ones?

my lcd monitor supports native 1680 x 1050 and 1900x1200, forget the res for now, the graphic detail on high settings is horrible.

the funny thing is even at lower res like 1280x1024 the frame rate is only higher by 5fps, so the crysis engine is really messed up, or its desinged on purpose to run like that.

Take a screenshot with FRAPS running so we can see what it looks like.

Well, it's not "poor", but I wasn't impressed with Crysis on high. The paper-cutout look that was so problematic on low is better, but not that much better.

Everyone talks this game up, but I'm just not knocked out.

It's because your computer isnt good enough, also do not set the shadows to very high. Try medium or high. I find the sharp shadows look better than the realistifc ones

There are other problems, too: pop-in for details (like the driftwood on the beach) or plants that crumple in bizarre ways when you walk past them (they tried to get it right, but the result is pretty lame).

It looks fantastic on High settings.

You simply need a pair of glasses

i had my xbox360 rrod on me 4 times until i said that is it, bought the ps3 and been happy with it ever since. Its ms foult not mine that i become teh cow.

Thats what the Crysis demo looks like on my comp running in DX10/windowed mode, 2X AA, 1024x768 and everything set to high. The frame does dip sometimes when you looking over stuff like I am on that screen and it also dips when I'm in the water or in huge fire fights going as low as 15 FPS sometimes. Probably not the best screenshot cause it's been resized.

My spec is 2GB DD2 800MHZ, NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800 GTS 640mb graphics card and 3.15 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core an 500 HDD. Can someone give me a brief example of what settings I'd be able run it on without it lagging. I've heard people telling me I can run it on very high and are all you people who are getting high framerates using tweak guides? I managed to tweak it a little by turning the motion blur off.

I completely disagree. However, Crysis really doesn't outdo eveything by a landslide. It really is to GeoW as GeOW was to other games at the time.Smuggiebear

Disagreed. While Crysis is clearly much better-looking than every game out there, when Gears of War was out you could argue that Company of Heroes was not only as good-looking, but better-looking.

to me that looks horrible. COD4 destroys crysis and yet it runs 80fps more than crysis.
