Crysis Lowest settings, minimum hardware impressions[ 56k, pics included]

Okay, I just got done playing the Crysis demo after downloading it from a leaked stie for 5 houtrs, then my internet crashing at 97 percent, then redownloading it with my friends account on fileplanet :P

I have to say, at the beginning of the game it was near pitch black and I COULDN'T FIND THAT DAMN TURTLE THAT THE GUY POPPED IN THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE GAME!:evil:

So anyways once I got going the controls were pretty quick to adjust to. I didn't eally like the feel of the guns. Like, none of them( save for teh shotgun) felt powerful like a gun out of R6V. I liked the customization options(dual pistols+ laser sites= fun, but suicide :/

Half way through I find a bunch of shacks and I'm hitting them and I'm like "why aren't you breaking" then I look on my settings and physics are on low.... So I jack those up to high and I'm busting down shacks and raining terror from above :D

The graphics? well I didn't think they were very bad. Some times they looked better than Far Cry, others not.

Seemed like a cool demo, but I feel like I'm missing half the experience because Crysis is all about immersion and atmosphere and I just wasn't getting that.

Hardware: 1GB RAM, 6600GT 128mb, P4 3.0ghz

Man, DX10 really makes a difference in this game, doesn't it? Eesh. At least now I know NOT to play it with my current setup.mjarantilla

Man, I just turned my effects to medium and then whenever a gunfight broke out- fps went to hell :/

Similar to my machine, 1GB RAM (Dual Channel) 6600GT 256MB, AMD 64 3500 (939). I though it wouldnt run at all, but I guess I will give it a shot

Im waiting for Vista SP1 and Geforce 9 series untill I upgrade.

That dos't make it more powerfull, it's a cheap bottom of the range budget card with not actualy intended for the purpose of gamaing, try and make it do anything beyond the level of PS2 graphics and it will have a fit.

I was playing the demo fine on 800x600 with an AMD 64 3800+, 8400GS, and 3gb ram. I didnt have enough time to play around with the settings though. I got reasonable frame rates that sometimes dropped to annoyingly low rates. I also didnt get to the main action sequence before I had to leave, sadly. As far as the quality of the demo's optimization, it runs quite well on XP.

Yeah I played the demo tonight and I thought my PC couldn't run it but it did on everything low. :lol:

I bet 2 gigs of Ram instead of one could help a lot in the fire fights. ;)

Wii's GPU = roughly the GPU of the XBOX. I read some reports that stated the XBOX GPU had some extra things that the Wii's was missing, but the Wii had other things that the XBOX GPu was missing...so...until I see something on the Wii that blows away top XBOX games

Hell, if it was on the 360, people would be too much amazed by the insanely large levels, breakable trees and buildings, and other things. Those low screens didn't look too bad at all and look much better in motion.

Heh I use to get a little annoyed that lemmings were passing off AA shots of Halo 3 as in-game, but then this jagfest doesn't do it justice either.

Ok, I had Crysis playing in a window, and I just booted up Halo 3 and quickly put it on High Ground.

Thing is, Crysis looks exactly like the pics you posted (although I had mine on med-high settings), no AA etc, in motion.

Halo 3 doesn't look like that in motion though.

And why do those screens look better than that measly Halo 3 one?

It's that gorgeous gun model that's taking most of the spotlight from the mediocre environment.

Heh, I already knew I couldn't. Maybe in about 5 years when I upgrade my computer, which by that time this game will look like crap compared to everything else :P.
