Er yea of course the eninge is not made for a single game - Crytek WANTS to sell it, like Epic and the Unreal3 Engine.
Any Crysis spinoff or Crytek engine 2 game will never look as good on ANY console, compared to PC. Thats for sure.Â
Hell Epic says the 360 is a 'low-to medium spec PC'. :PÂ
For some reason some people can not comprehend the simple fact that it is not Crysis but the Crytek 2 engine. Oh and the engine is supposed to come to the Xbox 360 too.smokeydabear076
I doubt it...and unless you have a link that is pure speculation...
I don't think a console like 360 could handle that game...I mean...that game is HEAVILY reliant on physics and particle effects not to mention the 360 is more than lacking in that department against games like a year old Resistance...
I mean dude...2D particle effects in Halo 3 beta?!
But hey...who knows..maybe they could...but I'd have to see a link.
tthey are porting over the engine not the game, crytek has said this multiple times.

However, being a cow, my attention typically does not go outside the playstation pages, i have no reason to, i have absolutely no interest whatsoever in other formats. As for pc, well, until i update my graphics card i will just hae to put up with ports.
And even if crytec or porting the engine, that is awesome news, the crysis engine is phenomenal. As for this thread...it was in my ps3 mag i got yesterday :D

Farcry was alot of fun on the xbox and that as downscalled graphically and a different game. If the gameplay ideas are good it will come to consoles, just downgraded (more like most will be able to play it since not many will have a pc that can handle its full effects) .

Do you guys know how to read, Epic did not say the 360 was a low to mid spec PC. They said in working with the 360, it was easier for them to reach and scale the engine back a lot easier on PC.
For real, Selective reading for the win!
You think you could do gears level of detail on low spec pc? Common sense says no...

Um Kameo, 1-2Million particle effects in one scene...yeah...try again. I'll give you physics, ps3 has the upper hand...but it's not like 360 can't do physics.Â

NOPE. Your WRONG.

learned loads from its smash hit Gears of War. Company founder Tim Sweeney says that the upcoming Unreal Tournament 3 will take that knowledge and put it into practice. And what did Epic learn? Sweeney explains:
The Gears of War experience on Xbox 360 taught us to optimize for multi-core, and to improve the low-level performance of the key engine systems. This has carried over very well to PC... Also, the 360 work we did resulted in an engine that also runs well on low-end and mid-range PCs.So we're pretty much saying the Xbox 360 is a low-end to mid-range PC? Back-handed compliments all around!

Im not surprised.the 360 GPU dosent even compare to an 8800... And I OWN a 360.

[QUOTE="ball_of_air"]Haze is the PS3's Crysis.DaysAirlinesOh dear..
Â
Oh dear what? He didn't say Haze looks as good as Crysis or that Haze will be Crysis. He simply said it will be to PS3 what Crysis is to PC. Relax. Until we get a pic of Killzone I think it's fair to say Haze is looking to be the most visually impressive PS3 game coming in the near future. Â

Err the part you were refering too wasn't in the quote or the interview, that was kotaku speculating....but good try. And duh, of course Xenos doesn't match 8800...I can't believe you made that comparision.
I would say 360 is a mid-range gaming PC rig power wise(Xenos = 1800XT with slightly higher shader power), it is not low end...and once again you cannot get Gears level of detail on a low end pc.
Of course low end could mean a lot of things...but I consider modern low end cards to be like the 6200/7300GT cards...
If anytihng the things that hampers both the ps3/360 is memory, or there lack of depsite a large jump from previous consoles...in the grand scheme of the "HD" era....768mb or 1GB would of been better.

They are porting the engine over bud.......this has already been stated many times before.Â
Consoles cannot genrate games a Cutting Edge PC can. Thats why they cost like a grand more compared to consoles. It will always be like this.
