Minimum Requirments

OS--Windows XP or Windows Vista
Processor--2.8GHz or faster (XP); 3.2GHz or faster* (Vista)
Memory--1GB RAM or 1.5GB RAM (Vista)

Video Card--256MB**

Recommended System Requirements:
OS--Windows XP / Vista
Processor--Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.2GHz
Memory--2GB RAM
GPU--NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar

To max out Crysis you need this or better, Consoles only have 512 MB ram thats a huge differance from 2gb, a console version of Crysis would be like a Half Life 2 port last gen. Hope the games as good at looks though.

It just means it wouldn't look as good as a $1000+ PC, and I don't think anyone is arguing with you about that.

PS3 is more powerful then those specs when optimised (a developer said it was better than 8800). If the developers of this weren't such PC fanboys it would be on PS3.

I won't even bother explaining since its just a waste of time. How about you think before you make a topic like this. Get better informed...

your right in that it won't look as good but you can't use pc system requirements when talking about a console version of a game. the original xbox wasn't even up to spec the min. requirements for Doom 3 yet it didn't look much worse than the high-end pc version. when devs can build their game around one specification (like a console) they can get alot more out of it. pc will look better than the console version (and their will be one) but it won't absolutely blow it out of the water.

sadly i meant to post the Minumum requirments wich state you need 1 gb of ram, almost double what consoles have. Bioshocks magic Minimum Requirment for ram is 512.

your talking about doom 3 right? even if thats true my point is that pc system requirements aren't a good indicator when talking about possible console versions of a game. the guy who mentioned Bioshock makes a good point. the pc version looked better but not generations better or anything. pcs get the advantage with load times and frame rates, assuming the pc is powerful enough.

the Critical stat isn't the GFX card , it's not the CPU it's as simple as 512 mb of ram, on the 2 consoles, i'm not surprised Crysis delayed a console version, it would have to be toned down to reach a console. to need a mandatory 1 gb of ram that means you still need more ram for better performance so 1 gb of ram will run slow. imagine a console with just 512 ram trying to play this game(can you say 5.3 fps)

You cannot compare PC specs to console specs easily because of the architecture. The consoles benefit a lot from having a unified system unlike computers. Every single chip in a console is geared towards gaming.

Yeah it was posted awhile ago but it was just for some kind of 3d simulation. Cell/RSX is damned powerful if optimized for though.

Crysis could probably be stripped down enough to work on 360 and PS3. PS3 version might even be equal if they rebuilt the engine for it.

It wasn't a developer nor an nVidia employee....

It was a random blogger..using a theoretical ray-trace benchmark. Not exactly credible.

it was at e3 05, but it kinda sounded like a bunch of pr.the point is that if crysis was developed for consoles by a solid developer, then they could get it looking great. you just have to build it with consoles in mind. the thing about crysis is i don't think the devs are putting much thought into a how a console portwould work. in that case it would seem as though a 360 version would be possible, but a ps3 version might be more difficult.but thats just going off of what john carmack has to say about pc and consoles....

We already have many threads on this issue. You will not see Crysis as it is on the PC on the consoles. If they were to port it, they would have to change the levels, AI, and the whole game play to accomadate witht he memory.

Actually the 360 version runs on high. Turning the PC graphics down to medium and the 360 takes the lead.

Doom 3 looked much worse then the pc version running on a high end pc, don't even attempt to compare the two. Doom 3 on xbox = low setting textures with some medium setting effects.

Edit: In fact a low end gaming pc by today's standards (Geforce 6600 gt, 1 gb of ram, single core cpu) can run Doom 3 at max settings. I mean the Xbox 360 versions ofPrey, Oblivion and Quake IV look about as good as the pc version running on medium settings. Yes Bioshock is an exception but for a PC game it's nothing too special to look at (looks like slightly updated Doom 3 graphics to me). The Orange Box on consoles is confirmed to only run at 30 fps, it's crazy that consoles can't run a three year old pc game beyond 30 fps. Crysis may appear on consoles but I'd hate to see how badly water downed it would be. It'd just be a different game.

I will play Crysis when it comes out on the Wii. I am sure the game would transfer perfectly fine even if the graphics are made Wii friendly.

Its only an FPS after all.

PCS ARE NOT 1000! to play Crysis,it only takes 425. It's possible on ps3. only Mininum tho. Since the RSX powers the ps3 its close to the 8800 well so is the 360's Xenon. POssible,Possible. never say never. Consoles Ram are around 864. so yeah,Crysis could run but it'll be cut down a bit. I don't know how strong that Crytek engine is so i wouldnt know. i know 360 and ps3 uses cores that more then enough to power it at Miniuim. the 360 and PS3 can only obtain minium. or Low end.
